Whether you agree with my general opinion about them or not, you can't deny that Blackpink's model of hype cultivation, deliberate achievement/record targeting and mediaplay has been nothing but a disaster for the girl group scene, something I foresaw coming. Aespa and New Jeans are the perfect "children" of BP, while Ive are more of a natural Twice successors, but still with some BP elements.
Aespa is like a carbon copy of BP and I don't think they were meant to be that way originally. I think they scrapped the original idea they got, more SNSD type of group, and decided to go this route. Mediaplay, hype generation and maximazing sales. Though I must admit, SM just don't have that shameless rat like built YG does, so they aren't doing it that sophisticated. But they are trying. Like why do you think their comeback is taking too long? Cause SM is gonna target the album sales record, I am saying it right now, mark the date.
Similarly NJ, though it is a different concept than BP, but the way they are being handled is very much like BP. Their Spotify strategy is a carbon copy of BP's Youtube strategy. Everyone knows there is something fishy going on but nobody has a proof. But it is obvious. And it is funny seeing blinks drag NJ while failing to see the obvious connection. Then there is this "Using BigBang to promote BP/Using BTS to promote NJ". I am pretty sure BP was not profitable for a long time, like getting all those expensive MVs and gigs while just being a digital group for the first two years, no way it paid of until a couple of years. Same with NJ, getting literally cinematic quality shit, something groups like Ive cannot afford to do.
And finally Ive, as I said, they are more like Twice, doing a bit too much, under produced content, incompetent management and etc. but they just have slightly more media play and more individual activities. So it'd be interesting to watch how it goes.
