isnt KPOP the 2nd biggest music market ?

-
I would've guessed Bollywood
-
3rd biggest maybe?
-
it's latin music ( reggaeton) imo unless you also consider it western music
I agree. The streaming numbers for some of these latin music acts are insane.
It kinda makes sense, not only are there a metric ton of countries that speak Spanish (unlike Korean), Spanish is apparently spoken fluently by 50 MILLION Americans while Korean is spoken fluently by 1M or so Americans.
American/Western pop
Latin pop
Kpop
In that order.

Rap
Pop
Latin Pop
Kpop

but do we only take streaming as the variables to measure ?
here in asia, latin pop is not popular and a niche music compared to KPOP which is as big as western...
while i believe that kpop is also not popular on latin but kpop group can do tour there, they have audience.. it doesnt matter if its just a small concert..i dont think latin musician can ever do a concert on asia especially SEA... except for popular one like Bad Bunny (?)

Which asia are you talking about Shakira, Ricky Martin Enrique iglesias etc were big in asia before kpop even was a smidge on the map. Latin music is mainstream for years now. Kpop never was and still isn’t in many places.

I thought we were talking about US and western countries only at least in the US Latin music is more popular than KPOP overall. I don't know about Asia bc I'm not Asian myself.
latin artists don't need to do concerts in ASIA in all honestly they can do a an American tour, look at bad bunny ( keep in mind there is a large hispanic population in the states) and some countries in Europe + Latam

It's definitely Latin music. A whole continent speaks Spanish versus KPOP still being a niche genre in most countries outside of Asia.
-
Western what? Us ? UK ? Italia ??
It’s not even Japan market makes more money.
-
-
If we talking about markets. Its countries. And USA, Japan and Germany are surely bigger than Korea.
If we talk about music branches. Pop, HipHop, latin and maybe edm are bigger than Kpop.
But i think Kpop is allready bigger than Rock or country music.

isn't it Jpop?
