If we talking about markets. Its countries. And USA, Japan and Germany are surely bigger than Korea.
If we talk about music branches. Pop, HipHop, latin and maybe edm are bigger than Kpop.
But i think Kpop is allready bigger than Rock or country music.
The last statistics i saw were that Korea is the 6th largest music market in the world and that Kpop is the seventh most popular genre in the world.
It's hard to answer without the numbers. There's no global report on genres. IFPI only reports on formats.
The only genre report I know is from Billboard. In the US, the 2nd biggest genre by total units is Rock, after R&B/Hip-Hop. Pop is only 3rd.
But globally it's an unknown. I don't even know which should be 1st.

Seems accurate. I have seem something like its the 4th or 5th most popular genre. But i also have seen some people say bp aint the biggest GG. So i guess we can only trust the statistics we fake ourself. 😅

Re music genre: it is hard to say - music fans listen to a super wide variety and it depends on where you are:
In Asia, Japan has been the largest market for a long time and it goes beyond pop music - there are classical, soundtracks (film, anime, games and all), and all kinds of music out of Japan in addition to JPOP etc. Despite KPOP’s global expansion, I don’t think it can overtake the total of Japan’s music market yet.
