Just give me good music and I’m happy
Do you prefer self-produced groups?

It is plus but not a make-or-breaker
In my mind if non self-produced groups are good they are good
but if it was self produced, even better.
its just like icing on the cake to know that the idols themselves have made it.

Yeah, I very much prefer self-produced groups.
SKZ I respect, but not my jam musically.
(G)I-DLE are both self-produced and hit my absolute sweet spot with music, so there my faves.
I love music that comes from a group, and honestly really struggle with any group that doesn't mostly produce it's own music. If their investment isn't there neither is mine.
I dunno, there's way too much music out there to waste too much on stuff not done by people presenting it, in my mind. My list of albums to listen to Spotify is still about 20 albums deep, despite being a quiet period.

Love to see the self produced stuff, but actually, less self-produced than self-composed in terms of lyrics or music is more interesting to me.
Now, I don’t care… a good song is a good song. That hooks me… but that hooks me for *that one song*.
But I’m more likely to vibe for something for longer if i feel that artist or group is trying to tell me something about the way they think or feel.

No.
I differ from the common view in that I actually wholly prefer when the company handles all aspects of production and creation as it comes to song writing, producing, aesthetic and artistic creation and choreography.
That's why I tend to prefer the early stages of all my favs careers. When the company handles everything.
I liken my preference to the set up of Old Hollywood, when the studios handled everything from the top down.

Doesn't matter
Music is music whoever produce it

It doesn't matter to me, but it is nice when they are able to create their own stuff, it makes it more personal and they are probably able to release more content without waiting for others. I find that groups who can self-produce make just as great as music as any other. It just adds to that level of amazing when you realize they did the work themselves and it's nice when a company gives their artists creative freedom.

NewJeans composes? I didn't know. Good for them!
They contribute not sure if it’s composing or just lyricism and it’s also an image that’s encouraged by their company so I think it’s gonna be part of their brand.
I saw this clip on tiktok it was pretty interesting and earnest

The more creative input they have, the more interesting I tend to find them. Stray Kids, BTS, (G)I-DLE and BIGBANG come to mind. LE SSERAFIM has Yunjin who's passionate about changing the perception of an idol and creating her own music.
With that said, I check out everything and give credit where it's due because great artistic expression can be exhibited in more than one way. Some groups might not have much involvement in the creative process, but they surely execute well when it comes to things like stage presence.

nope but and there's a big but...
self-producing is a different set of skills I can appreciate it more if a group is self-producing
the end result has to be good music so if two groups both have good music but one group is self-producing then I can say that I appreciate and acknowledge that self-producing group more since they did more
(I hope I make sense)
