BP was scrutinized bc they were/are the most successful in this area where in kpop everything is a competition. Let's not act like BP also never showed their love for music. Jimin will release an entire album and is using brand deals as an stepping stone for marketing his new solo endeavours.
He worked hard for the album, we saw it ourselves. Just with one album he will get more solo songs than certain group solos combined.
That's the difference between releasing just enough music to keep your fashion deals coming (bare minimum) and doing a fashion gig on the side of your artistic career.

And Yes, they have been doing music for this past 10 years... But lbr here, this brands been waiting for them since forever and now was given a go so they are now jumping to sign each one of them!
