I was just thinking about it, and 14 y/os singing about how much they "love you" is weird as heck. Singing in front of grown men and women, and since most love songs sound like they're directed towards the audience/listener they're also basically singing it to them. Just another reason why minors shouldn't debut.
It's weird for minors to sing love songs in general tbh

I don't have much of a problem with it, if it's shit like confessing and first loves then I get that. The line is crossed when it's 'mature'
-
Yes true.
What do they even know about real love.
-
I don’t think so? Love/crushes/romantic feelings are not intrinsically sexual. Insinuating that is quite weird IMO. Also kpop is meant to be consumed by other teens and I’m pretty sure teens are the target demographic of kpop and the majority of kpop consumers.
If the adults are creepy then they’re the ones who should be condemned. Nothing wrong with teen romances or teens consuming romantic content. It’s natural.

It doesn't really bother me, but I could see how it would bother people.

If you look at a banana and think dirty thoughts, the problem is not the banana.

completely random but the other day my friend at work popped a banana in the microwave at work and I was like WTF?
and she said she had just taken it out of the fridge and needs to warm it up a bit!!!

it just isn't true that "most" kpop love songs are directed at the audience.
-
Unless it's a fan song, which aren't typically love songs, I don't think any love song is directed to the audience. You're supposed to relate the song to your love. If you think they're singing it to you that crosses into delulu.

You must hate children singing competition shows then..

Yeah, Kpop definitely isn't all about fanservice

Yeah, I don't really like Toddlers & Tiaras

ok, and? a lot of kpop songs are just demos that the company buys in the first place

I feel like somewhere in this "protecting minors" thing many have collectively forgotten these are teenagers and not toddlers
They might not bring playing with the same deck as a 25 year old but they can definitely experience and understand complex emotions and thoughts. And many teen idols appeal more to children, other teens are adolescents

This reminds me, when Purple Kiss debuted with Ponzona. Swan (17 internationally) is the main vocalist but Chaein (18 internationally) was singing the high note "Baby kiss me ah ah".
I thought that seems more appropriate than Swan singing it. And I saw another fan have the same comment that the part is kind of mature and they are glad they gave high note to Chaein.
Not that we would think it's inappropriate if Swan sings that part (she was one of the composers for the song so she probably sang it in the demo anyway). But it just really seems more appropriate and fitting for Chaein to sing it.
(Slightly related note, for Ponzona, stylists gave Chaein and Yuki (18 internationally) garters but not Swan (17)
When Zombie released, Swan was now 18 internationally and she was wearing like this half kind of garter
so it looks like they know exactly the age of the girls and they keep it in mind...idk I just found it funny that as soon as Swan turns 18 she wears this kinda-garter

As long as the song doesn't get too explicit I don't see it as a problem. It's when "minors" get sexualised that it becomes a worry.
-
They should sing about money. I know kpoopies will love that.
-
I think there is a limit.
14 year olds (even 10 year olds) experience crushes.
I don't think singing about love is inherently bad, but there are some inappropriate lyrics and songs that are not age appropriate.
