It is EXO in every metric including digitals.

Twice have bigger hit singles. But EXO have the bigger albums (in terms of unique listeners btw not “mass streaming” which I know people will bring up). It’s EXO, Bigbang, BTS and IU that dominate this metric. Twice don’t even feature.

I know EXO are dead but there’s no need to pretend their records don’t exist

I guess you’re new to kpop or never followed stats. It’s actually twice albums that don’t have any listeners compared EXO. Please actually look at numbers and stats before making random comments like this.

Yeah, the downplay was unexpected specially when Exo is a big name even now.

For me EXO album digitals are more impressive than anything twice have done digitally so I guess this is a matter what you consider is important.

Also why are we ignoring the huge difference in concert numbers. I bet if this was any other group people will be writing essays about concert goers to justify why their favs are bigger in some country😭

Anyway im used to this. But EXO are extremely dominant digitally never let anyone tell you otherwise.

Fandom would be reflected in sales and used more to inflate those stats. But concert is the raw number of people who put their money where their mouth is to see you do your job and is the most important metric to determine popularity for a musician for me.

Anyway in so many metrics EXO is bigger but I know I’m not going to convince anyone so it’s alright 💀

I mean, depends on how you measure popularity. Comparing ggs and bgs is always a reach, cause they attract more different demographics.

I think the main problem with this question is more to define if it is the musical popularity of the group or it is popularity in the sense of recognition.

Music Exo is bigger, Twice is not even the girl group with the most ULs (but they have the GG song with the most ULs in Korea ever 'Cheer up' got almost 6M Uls) but in terms of recognition, I think Twice is more popular with their title of Nation girl group.

TWICE. Most certified idol group on Gaon(maybe BTS now but they still hold the record for GGs and are #2), nine #1 hits, CU first GG song to hit 6M ULs, national title, more weeks in top 10, PAKS etc. It's not even up for debate tbh.

I think people don't know how huge exo was in 2013-2016. Their engagement to gp was also big this period. And their songs did really well. Same goes for twice in 2015-2018. For bigger song yes cu is definitely leader, but exo was the first million seller group in a while so yes equal imo

You can compare them but the answer is still the same.

This this is tricky, I immediately want to say TWICE as they have certainly been more relevant and trendy for years. But Exo hasn’t had a group comeback in yeaaars and their fandom is huge.

In fact they are pretty big among the GP too boygroup wise. Some of their members individual popularity with their solo releases is crazy too. It’s hard to say for sure…
