[NB] Soyeon defends Shuhua from inappropriate comments made by male cast on 'Knowing Bros'

  • Smart Soyeon!

  • I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, the Knowing Bros crew are skeevy old men who don't belong on a variety show frequented by young female idols. On the other hand, (G)I-dle are essentially inviting comments like this with the content & theme of their song. Wanting to be asked only the usual safe idol questions after a release like Nude is like wanting to be risky without any of the actual risk involved. What did they really expect? It would be different if their company had forced a provocative concept on them, but no, their own member came up with it. If they're going to willingly follow her lead, they need to own it, Soyeon especially. Because once you release something provocative out into the world, there's no take-backsies.

Forget accents, she should consider how poor her own English is when writing a song.

  • JT3000 - "They were asking for it". Classy stuff.

Wouldn't be a topic about Idle without Jt3000 throwing in their garbage hate train against Soyeon, with a side note of good old rape culture victim blaming whilst at it. Hitting all the marks.

Same mixed feelings when considering everything and the context. I also don't like the double standards. The whole crew is fine with asking everyone about sleeping nude but asking a woman if she sleeps nude is a no go but its totally fine to ask a guy this question. Why? I think the question should be why isn't equality a standard and why are their double standards when it comes to this stuff.

Its to the point that women who actively and openly engage in sexually provocative things to get attention similar to how boy bands do you literally cannot ask them questions about it at all its a trap. You can ask Jimin about his hip thrusts and abs all day go ask Jennie about her hips and a top that barely covers her nipples and you are a sex offender and rapist by the end of it 🤡 something is fundamentally wrong with this
