Exactly. They will always have people checking them out with every comeback. I think people got too used to huge debuts with taking every record that they forgot that was an atypical experience in the past, and it's much more common for Big4 to generate a lot of interest but not solidify standing until after a few comebacks.

The public barely cares about JYP groups anymore, they would need a couple of hits to revive the interest again.
Based on album sales from entwurf, it doesn't seem there was any growth in the fandom, even though they did a month of pre-orders with all those pointless teasers.
As of now, they have a lot of catch-ups to do, especially if they continue going on the path they are now.

Album sales have nothing to do with the general public, It's all about the obsessed fans that want to support their favorite groups. Normal people aka GP don't buy albums from kpop groups at least.
This again just reinforced the argument of GP not caring about the group because a lot of JYP sales come from international fans. Before they had like 50/50 sales, but now is more like 80% from international.

Yes. Their team needs to decide to prioritize and market songs with broader appeal ("public facing" title tracks) over the more "developmental" (fandom/"internal facing") tracks.

NCT just have a big Korean fanbase, none of their songs has hit with the GP. Ask any Korean to name an NCT song...A girl group is never gonna amass that many devoted stans who'll mass stream their songs 24/7.

There is always hope.
Look at GIDLE killing it this year, after few years of mid tier existence.
Many groups found their fame after few years, not all blaze out upon debut - BTS, OMG or even extreme cases like Brave Girls.
Even better than these groups, NMIXX has a major label backing them. So yes.
Besides the model in the industry seems that agencies aren't chasing GP hoping for hits, but rather steady and increasing sales to a growing fandom.
GP Hits are merely a bonus.
