Frankly I give a pass to young idols who say ignorant dumb shit

  • A minor gets into an industry that gets them working 60 hours a week and people expect them to be smort? Like not gonna happen

They skip school to maximize their training hours since they are like 12. They drop out or skip classes completely once they debut.

From everything I know about kpop parents, they do not have the best track record. A whole batch of them don't even have their kids best interest in their mind. These kids money gets shoveled into their parents account till they are legal which in Korea is 21.

In older times, idols with seniority used to take new ones under their wings like a mentor. That type of relationship doesn't exist anymore too.

Give it a few years and they know what they did wrong or said wrong.

Like everytime Minho, Key or Taemin remembers their debut days they call themselves ignorant, uneducated, selfish and self-centered. Self awareness will come with maturity.

  • People make mistakes and not everyone knows everything… like nobody does. It doesn’t matter if young or old, but yeah you make more mistakes when you’re younger.

An Idol slipped, ok happens, they apologize… move on. But some people can’t let go and want to make it a bigger issue than it is.

  • so long as they clarify idc because at the end of the day its their massive fandom who start perpetuating these ideas just because their idol did which either allows them a space to spout hateful stuff they always believed in or to say it just to defend their idol.

  • yes but when this is stupid ...we need called out

I guess im biased the youtube kpop channels trying portray wonyoung as dumb and selfish arrogant when ive debuted...they said wonyoung is unprofessional...no wonyoung debuted at 14 years old and they did used the old izone video mistrundertood nonsense as bad attitude when she was minor...i remember many comments critized her cause they dont know wonyoung when she was izone member well..i guess they need check the past, wonyoung didn't done much jokes even in izone.

She talk when she is ready exprimed.

Im happy, the ive members repeat much time wonyoung is really professionnel person and optimist.

    We need reported...them

    Damage image about minors life.

  • For me, it's not even about idols being ignorant. My biggest problem is locals thinking the entire fucking world revolves around THEIR beliefs, their values, their opinions on right and wrong. And the condescending, patronizing way these locals have the nerve to actually start lecturing folks thousands of miles away, the sheer audacity and entitlement is mindboggling.

Koreans have their own ideas about right and wrong, what's socially appropriate what's not, either accept it or move on. Like i think there are tons of fucked up shit about Korea, just like how we have our own problems here, but you would never catch me using a fucking fansign to start lecturing them, my god, it makes me seethe just thinking about it.

  • I think on one hand, giving the wide reaching influence these idols have, yeah you don't want them saying anything that would negatively influence young kids or whatever.

On the other, these idols are young themselves and will be prone to making mistakes and stuff.

I think with fanwars, cancel culture, and just general toxicity of social media kind of exacerbates the problems, and doesn't help.

idk what exactly to do, but I do think they should be educated, and learn from their mistakes. I don't think they deserve intense attacks or anything for saying ignorant things though... usually anyways.

  • what does Wonyoung have anything to do with this ;(;(;(

This is not funny you know this is cyberbullying...

Wonyoung said sometime she prefer going in school in era 2019 .

Even the evil edits what is idea ,i know the People make that (they re insecure or narcissits)

Even i know wonyoung didnt said igorant things Or stupid thing (example :problematic past as baddie teen)

the reason Wonyoung stay quiet but natural optimist person .

    She is really perfectionist person

Tzuyu was social person in era 2015 ..now she is quiet person...this is factor.

  • But there's a difference between not knowing something because you didn't learn it or experience it and deliberately saying wrong information despite significant evidence

  • I tend to agree. Cancel culture doesn't allow for people to grow and learn. But thankfully outside of crazy twitter stans who exist on the fringe (seriously, there's some absolute psychos, but I usually write them off to shock value) I think people have grown tired if cancel culture. It was a thing in 2018 that was sort of new, but people realized how silly it was.

In Kpop @@@12dc04bb-7ee1-4eb0-bada-e36ef4ee7d2c@@@ there was a period of time someone was getting canceled every week.

Now that is not to say we shouldn't hold people accountable for their words or actions.

Idols and celebrities aren't victims. They asked for this life and for the attention.

They have a public platform that most people don't have. So people do have the right to hold them accountable. People can also choose not to be someone's fan due to an incident.

But I'd like to get to a place where idols can have opinions and not be a company robot...as if they're some product (which to an extent, they are) and they can have real opinions without people freaking out.

They can have opinions and thoughts and people have the right to disagree. If they make a mistake, hold them accountable and they should apologize and learn and people should accept that. That's how it's supposed to work.

But while cancel-culture is still a thing, idols will be afraid to say anything.

I hope all idols can reach a level like Key. He freely shares his opinion. That's partly due to his fanbase being more mature and partly due to the fact that he doesn't give a f*ck what people think.

Hopefully we can have more Keys in the industry soon.

  • I try to read intent, if something offensive is done without malicious intent I'm more inclined to give them grace but at the same time certain things are just inexcusable no matter how old you are.

But there's a difference between not knowing something because you didn't learn it or experience it and deliberately saying wrong information despite significant evidence

I think it's reasonable to assume they are uneducated and unaware due to their job circumstances.

Alot of their mistakes comes from ignorance rather than being malicious

  • I think we need to stay away from getting our information from celebrities.

Idk how that became a thing, even outside kpop

People will follow sth bc a celebrities endorsed it
