Group members should be blamed too if they flop
-
-
eh it depends...
-
-
Maybe relevant maybe not.
I hate how everytime if something good happens it's "OMG SO TALENTED VOCALS DANCE WOOO YOUR FAVES COULD NEVER THE OUTFITS SUCH STYLE GUCCI GANG GUGGI GANG" but if something bad it is always "FUCK THIS COMPANY, THIS STYLIST TRYING TO SET THEM UP, THIS SONG NO EFFORT WHY THEY GIVE THEM SHIT SONG"
Bish if the song sucks then ask your faves to write their own shit, but they can't so

tbh, they dont need to write the songs to be responsible for the songs
Afterall the songs are releasing under their name so they are responsible it, they can get criticism for the song

yes your nugu faves are untalented
-
Shouldn't also kpop stans be blamed lol, cause kpop stans are shallow, usually the most popular members from groups tend to be the visuals. Least popular member tends to be least visual. Groups who doesn't have strong visuals tend to be less popular. So in that case it is just wrong for them to be blamed that they are not pretty enough lol.

Wait that sounds cruel but its true i guess

Not really
its not like everyone's stanning just for the visuals
Just dont target the kpop stans looking for visuals
There's plenty of other ways to brand yourself-
Self producing, best vocals, etc

why should only the company be bashed if a group flops
also, it would seem less "evil" to blame a company rather than the members themselves?
because if you blame the member it would be a direct attack to the very person. And that could be very mean?
if you blame the company, such as mismanagement or not enough promotion, it would felt less evil because you didn't even know who is behind all of those stuff.
also there could be other several reasons tho.as simple as people biased opinion for their favs (my fav is perfect, so they can't be the wrong) that makes people easily blamed the company

Sometimes its better to be mean *insert evil laughter*

I agree this is what I never understood about kpop stans

But visual stans are the majority, if the group doesnt have any strong visual, the chance of becoming popular is much slimmer. Self producing, best vocals etc doesn't bring in more fans than visuals, kpop stans barely care those.
-
if they have no say in the music and just have to perform whats given without a word then isn't it wrong to be blamed tho. Shouldn't the producers be blamed? Afterall they are credited and group is just performing

it works for grps
bts rapline, svt, gidle soyeon etc
edit-the way i forgot skz

this is more of a personal thing for me
i dont bother to go look for producers to blame
afterall i praise the grp for a good song so they get the criticism too

i mean idols have no control over their music they get, so it's unfair either praising them or criticizing them over their music imo. Having good producers or getting good music I see it as privilege. I only criticize idols what they have control over which is usually skills, performance, how much creative input they put in their material etc.

feel like unless a group is from the big companies or already have famous members, it's like pretty much luck-dependent if they flop or not
Not in the tiktok era!! There's more avenues to get yourself out there and interact more with potential fans
-
Besides gidle, in all of that group visual member is still the most popular and most stan attractors. But Soyeon is truly rare gem but despite being most talented 4th gen female idol her popularity still not on par with Karina/Winter/Wonyoung tho, this really shows how much people prefer visual more.

I don't think bashing any producer does any good.....
After all the group chooses which song to release.
-
-
I think at this point of Stray Kids career I wouldn't blame JYP If they had a song underperforming internationally where they've been consistently doing well and got enough attention/hype already.
Because they are the main producers of their songs and choose their title tracks. If they make/choose a lackluster song in the marjority of their public opinion then what the agency can do...
-
I don't know about other companies... But for SM groups, the groups have final say in what song is to be released. However stans will never blame their idols.
-
-
-
Did they not? I mean that would be pretty absurd.

But that's not the case for every other company
So many kpop groups literally said they hate their songs even if the song was doing well

yo
but if company releases MV filmed in garage
which looks like I could film using my Xiaomi phone then...
I would still blame the company lol

if they chose O.O the other choices must been even worse
-
Yeah... It's alright for us, as fans disagree with groups' decision if the song released as tt is not the best song (I.e. there are better options in B-sides).
-

Not necessarily. That's where subjective music tastes clash.

If the company doesn’t do much for a group it might be because they don’t have high expectations for the group in the first place or that the group isn’t marketable enough so the company doesn’t know what songs will fit them but that might be a hard pillow to swallow. Either that or the company is poor. Some groups are handled poorly but can still do well for themselves so a lot of the time it’s definitely not just because of the company
