If you look at his complete tracklist and even just his lyrics, you can see that these are the songs that he wants to make
It's pretty obvious that he just wants to release something that represents his identity
So the kids who are belittling him because of his results look brainless
He's already at the top and he's achieved everything already, he could've easily released an English song if he felt like he wanted to go for a higher results, and he knows this best, but he didn't
He just release something he wanted so the people who are trying to mock him, are you guys just purposefully shutting your ears????

And for hip hop mixtapes, it's usually hard to achieve good results

    2. [+84, -38]
So what's the point of you guys still streaming then?

    3. [+70, -34]
    But in reality, I'm sure he's hurt..ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

    4. [+41, -10]
But the fact that he went so big on promotions must mean that he somewhat still cares a lot about the results no? Do you think that J-Hope just does music as a hobby?

    5. [+35, -4]
The people who are cursing at Army for being results bugs, you guys are even more results bugs than themㅋㅋ This is one of the issues within KPOP. The moment you want to release the music you want, people start mocking and attacking you tsk tsk. If it's not public-friendly, you guys don't have to listen to it, why is it necessary to bash him for it? I feel like you guys view BTS more as gods than the fans themselvesㅋㅋㅋ

    6. [+28, -7]
More like he's pretending to not care alright

    7. [+26, -15]
Seriously it's so frustrating to see your lack of intelligenceㅋㅋㅋㅋ do you think there's a singer out there who truly doesn't care about results? He even threw a party at Hybe just yesterdayㅋㅋㅋㅋ

    8. [+25, -12]
Let's say that J-Hope truly doesn't care, we can tell that Army f*cking care meanwhile they're pretending to be cool about itㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

    9. [+25, -5]
I'm a hip hop fan and the song was fine? Hip hop comes down to personal taste, it's possible that the general public finds it hard to listen to

    10. [+24, -7]
If you guys have any shame, go stream his songs a bit

let us gather around for the lord’s prayer:

Nævis we love you. You are the one who protected me when i was in trouble. MY victory, one SYNK DIVE. I know your sacrifices. Let’s meet surely after the resurrection.

    Æmen

I think this commenter is the one lacking in many things. J-hope threw the party to show people his sound, and the people that he invited are mainly from khiphop and kindie.. He knows that type of crowd would understand and value the art and message in his album. If he really wanted to top charts and validation, he would invite kpop idols (so kpop fans would eat that up) and streaming labels, tv stations etc.

Of course J-hope wants results. But it’s not about topping charts (it would be nice if course). He wants people to recognise his capabilities as a talented singer song writer, as rapper, as an artists with multiple talents and depths..that means more to him then topping charts IMO.

  • lol He never said that. Karmy are just making excuses for not supporting him. They never did so results are not surprising. (most Hoseok's stans didn't expect anything from kcharts at all cause they know how karmys are with him)

His main audience is not in Korea, and he is doing well internationally so whatever.

  • Does khh even do well on charts in Korean? I got the sense that it's super niche over there and doesn't do well. I could be wrong and probably am.

Historically it has done well, groups like Epik High, Leessang, people like MC Mong etc were very big digital players, more recently it tends to me SMTM

what big promotion? he didn't even release a physical copy of the album :cryingr:

the man sold out lollapalooza set, people bought tickets before the album's release, how is he flopping :cryingr:

Using acts like Leessang and MC Mong who are definitively pop rap acts... kinda obscures the conversation.

There's a very big difference in the scene between a MC Mong and say a Paloalto.

  • People complained about BTS “selling out” by making pop tracks to top charts and get radioplay but suddenly doing things to top charts don’t exist anymore and everything you put out is supposed to hit number 1 even if you make a 10 minute track with a 3 minute break with half of it being ambient sounds

  • 4. [+41, -10] But the fact that he went so big on promotions must mean that he somewhat still cares a lot about the results no? Do you think that J-Hope just does music as a hobby?

Big promotions???? Where? Prior to release, even after MORE was already dropped it was radiosilence everywhere except for Hoseok's insta  Only now some things start to appear

And he never said anything about not caring about results. Yes, he could go easy way with pop-like track and all the typical tricks for quick blow out, yes, he goes absolutely against the rules and decided to stay true to his art, but it doesn't mean that he doesn't care about results and doesn't want to do well. Actually it's very important for him and his future solo career to do well now with such type of release. But lollapalooza already showcased his selling power to all people in entertainment business and JITB is doing good and looks like slowly reaching that target audience outside of kpop bubble, so in overall everything goes more or less ok.
