Dragon Ball - Got me into anime. I knew of Japanese animation before but I was too young to really pay attention.

Yu Yu Hakusuho - Memorable for me because of that period in my life more so than the actual anime

Perfect Blue - Made me realize that there is so much more to anime than shonen

Grave of the Fireflies - Heartbreaking. I usually cite this as an example when people argue anime are just kid stuff.

Domu: A Child's Dream - My first manga. It was a hand-me-down if I remember correctly. I think it was a Dark Horse reprint. The artwork and the story was so good.

Anime : FMA Brotherhood, Death Note, Code Gueass, Jojo

Manga : One Piece, FMA, Jojo, Slam Dunk

Manga: Fullmetal Alchemist

1. Naruto (I grew up with him from baby well I can say I was born the same day as him but when he became hokage I am only 15 yo)

2. AOT (I like it because the story is kinda interesting which is not cliche and I love seeing killing type of anime

3. Akame ga Kill/Black Clover/Mirai Nikki ( well the reasons is pretty much same as above

4. Rage of Bahamut series ( because its the first anime I watch with different kind of animation well its MAPPA the same as the new studio for AOT, I like the animations and Amira is very kawaii 😍

5. Other anime that I forget the name, because I watch too many at the same time lol

Laputa castle in the sky is my fav anime of all time - Its one of my only memories prior to coming to Australia - its such a good movie.

Now I'm going to be controversial and say Pokémon - its not the most known worldwide and spawned a million movies tv shows, card games, computer games, etc etc for nothing.

I don't think it's a controversial pick. It's just a different way to see what would be the best of all time. Pokemon qualifies in a sense of being very influential and with extreme reach in pop culture. I was thinking in naming Evangelion, Dragon Ball, Slam Dunk, Sailor Moon, and so on to name a few that would be similar in terms of mega successes and influence.

Yeah that was what I was getting at I think - I mean we all grew up watching some variation of pokemon, digimon, yugioh, dragon ball etc so those shows are probably what influenced us to watch more anime growing up.

lmao to be fair i could never know what is the best anime / manga of all time lol but overall all of Junji Ito's work are the superior ones when it comes to manga, sadly no real faithful animation was made
