I was just looking for Idle tickets and my jaw dropped. And then I looked at SKZ tickets and WHAT THE HOLY HELL. I remember right before the world went to pot, I was able to get SKZ and NCT tickets for about 100 bucks in LA. They weren't great seats, but it was fine. I didn't end up going due to a bunch of stuff, but I could've. Now, good floor seats to SKZ are like 700+ bucks. What is happening?? Is it the increased popularity? Pent up demand due to the lack of tours during covid? Inflation? Ticket scalpers discovering how insane stans are? Sigh. Looks like I'll just be saving up and then only going to my absolute faves.
Concert ticket prices have gone insane!

Those enormous prices you're seeing are resale/scalpers.
From what I saw, the base price of tickets (face value) hasn't actually gone up much.

Yeah I think this is mostly scalpers

I still have my kidney, I would pay any amount just to see my faves again live

I see what you did there my friend lol
-
basic supply and demand though
there isn't enough supply to go around thus somethings have to give...
the alternative would be first in first serve? and a lot of people will still miss out because they didn't get in on the action fast enough?

the cheapest tickets for justin beiber concert here were around 60 dollars without tax and the most expensive ones were for 500 dollars without tax before he cancelled

I wish scalping was banned

it's resellers taking advantage of how unhinged kpop fans are lol. they mark up tickets like 500%
It's really unfortunate, especially when they are able to use bots to snap up tix

That seems reasonable to me. 500 bucks for the best seats? I would do it for my fave.

Was going to go to Loona despite not liking much of the music since they were coming to my city, a city where I've never seen a kpop group go to, if the tickets were like $50. But let's just say the tickets were at least 10x that amount.
Oh wells maybe they will pave the way for more kpop groups to tour here
-
Lol i wish there was a good competitor for them. Their fees are outrageous! I hope you get good tickets!

Awww I hope you get more shows in your area. I only have seen one group stop in my city, but fortunately I am able to travel a little

I mean Loona is mid-tier not even nugu so that was shocking when they announced the tour
And my city is one of the ones hosting the world cup among the big boys so we have something attractive going on here right :P
They were platinum tickets which apparently vary in price based on demand so I don't think they were resell?

It's from the movie Detroit Rock City (1999) Ikr? been a good while :D I think I'm behaving well :D It's good seeing you around the forums :D

Not resell, official ticketmaster platinum seats

Good to hear :)

Not resell, official ticketmaster platinum seats
Whoah that's A LOOT for one concert
-
Not resell, official ticketmaster platinum seats
So Platinum seats is basically Ticketmaster's version of scalping itself.
They are seats they hold back "for the fans". They release them as overpriced and "exclusive"
-
That's true. I was able to get better seats for cheaper in Phoenix than in Los Angeles

Yep "dynamic pricing" means charging whatever they can get
-
And I thought Europe was expensive!
700!
FOS for kpop flex next year is 400 usd.
Come to Europe
-
inflation!!!!
I've gotta save up TT
-

It'd be different if they did their "dynamic pricing" for tickets that didn't sell at first. But those Platinum tickets were like that from the beginning. The seats aren't available when all the tickets go on sale.
So it's nothing more than fancy scalping.
