How would you feel if an idol is claimed to be “the ace” of their group despite having only visuals and no outstanding talents whatsoever?

I don't think an idol is brave enough to name themselves as an ace when they don't have any talent. However, fans claim all sorts of nonsense all the time

its pretty common among korean audiences

int audiences to a lesser extent

but i dont have to worry cause my fave is an actual ace AND has visuals for ages

Everyone hypes up their faves and everyone has different tastes that it’s all subjective anyways - some people describe someone as amazing looking while for others they’re 🤷🏽‍♀️, or they praise someone’s vocals that another person finds 🤷🏽‍♀️.

So on paper, no I’m not bothered but I’m honest enough to know that if someone named a person who definitely isn’t an all rounder or ace that I might be like “what are you smoking?” if it’s particularly crazy.

I can't think of anyone that fits who are called ace but lacks talent so I don't know how to respond to this

I wouldn't be too impressed as I've always said, there's more to K pop than just a pretty face. If looks was all they could offer, then I'll pass.

everybody and their mothers are called ace this days and there are very few ace idols so couldn't care less if a visual is called ace or not

The term Ace should be reserved for the best of the best and be based on talent. Visuals should not be considered.

I think an Ace has to be at least top 5 at their position. They have to have 4 stars at another talent and 3 stars in all other talents.

For example: Soyeon

Top 5 female rapper (#1) ******

Top 5 female idol producer (#1) *****

Top 5 female stage presence *****

Good dancer ****

Decent vocalist ***

I honestly wouldn't care, I would have said Yeji was the Ace, and I know others would have said Ryujin

I like Yuna, and Yeji and Ryujin

I think to be upset about it I would have to dislike that specific Idol and simultaneously like the Group, and I don't dislike any Idol, let alone one from a Group I like

So a combination of the 2nd and 3rd options I guess, but mostly indifference
