There is one thing these groups you listed have in common it’s an international fandom Fifty fifty 2.0 won’t have that cuz international fans don’t have an interest in them, fifty fifty 2.0 will just be an other Brave girls Korea will support their first comeback and then they’ll just fall off

Yes. They have an International fandom because of the survival show. That's my whole point. Something the current Fifty Fitfy can't say they have. And you're right, International fans aren't interested in Fifty Fifty themselves, but they are interested in the scandal, which is what will pull the iterest.

Edit: I just noticed you really compared 2.0 to Brave Girls lol. At that point it just seems like wishful thinking on your end.

But a survival show doesn't guarantee success anymore. Especially with GGs.

We've seen this with Fromis_9, Kep1er, and CLASS:y. Also wouldn't doubt if this new Queendom Puzzle group flops. They might sell more than Fifty Fifty, but that doesn't guarantee public recognition/support.

I honestly wouldn't call any of the groups you listed as flops. Excluding Cupid which was a viral hit, all those groups you listed are doing far better than Fifty-Fifty in every single area, Fromis_9 and Kep1ler especially. Also, Queendom puzzle is a different class of survial show and can't be compared. Queendom puzzle is along the lines of The Unit: shows that bring back old faces and failed idols, which obviously will never do well as shows like Produce48 that introduces young fresh and talented faces.

But even then, the industry professionals are enough to counter your claim that survial shows don't do well. If survival shows weren't successful then why are companies (even big ones like HYBE who shouldn't even need survival shows with their level of brand recognition) announcing the start of a new survial show every other day? You listed Queendom as one example of a failed idol show but neglected to mention the (many more) successful ones,

After NiziU, JYP is already doing A2k right now. Zerobase1 just had the most successful debut of all time after being on Boy's planet, after I-Land that brought us Enhypen, HYBE is just about to wrap up RUNext and will immediatly be starting Dream Academy, plus they already annonced to be in another partnership for a new girl group with SBS (?). Oh, and let's not forget even &Team was formed on a survival show in Japan.

If Attrackt does team up with Mnet, the Fifty-Fifty scandal is big enough that many will tune in, some for the drama, some out of curiousity, some just to hate watch, and some because they are survival show addicts. And all it takes is for a single trainee to catch their eyes and then it's over.

And even if Fifty-Fifty 2.0 only does as well as Kep1er, that is still leagues better than the Fifty-Fifty now, because at least they will have an actual fandom to support them once Cupid starts to decline and listeners move on.

I'm curious if K-netz are actually going to support the group if Attrakt does debut a new group? ;judgingpepe::pepe-narrow-eyes:

I could understand your doubt if he was just going to randomly debut some more unknown girls. But If they do a survival show? Especially with Mnet? Of course. Survial shows build dedicated fandoms out of thin air and add that in with the fifty fifty controversy? They are right when they say the interest would be exploding.

They probably waited for public opinion and since Jeon stirred it against 5050 they probably decided to shut up to salvage whatever is remaining of their career, especially Ha Sungwoon, who is now in the military, who will probably get a job in Hybe later thru his friend Jimin and had no reason to risk his future for an act he didn't even know anything about.

You know I know you're crazy, right? :/

at current juncture, it is EXTREMELY HARD for anyone to side with 50/50 and The Givers given how most of their arguments and claims have been debunked

Also, the ifans initially jumped onto the conclusion to hate the ATTRAKT CEO based on his bad track records with previous group (which is very vague support tbh, track record =/= current situation). Since then many claims have been debunked and more controversy revealed about The Givers. The tide has shifted obviously...

The funniest thing about this for me is that they claim he mistreated Hotshot and yet not a single hot shot member had come forward with anything to say about the Attrakt CEO. If any of the members truly felt any resentment toward the Attrakt CEO this would have been their perfect opportunity to speak up. But they haven't.

What they don't seem to understand is that groups fail for numerous reasons. Success is never guaranteed, especially for small companies. It also doesn't help that stans like to cry mistreatment for every little thing. The CEO could have had an okay relationship with the members even though things didn't work out for the group. He could have also learned from his failures.

I really have to give it to HYBE, they know what they are doing. Are you paying attention JYP? When we talk about localizations, THIS is what we mean. Not only is the diversity much more visible (there are girls on there that aren't just a very light tan that you can cake in Korean make up 2 shades to bright to match their tone), but if you showed me this without prior knowledge it was meant to be a Kpop survival show, I might have just assumed it was some Western coming of age performance project or something.

This feels very natural, very sincere compares to A2K. It's not just trying to force this mask of Kpop onto Westerners (that sort of thing can work for Japan with NiziU, but for the West, A2k just feels very cringe and forced), instead, HYBE is actually using the Western culture and bringing aspects of Kpop to IT, not the other way around. It's blending, not assimilating.

I'm not a HYBE Stan, but I can understand why they do so well with all their groups they push in the West. It's because they respect their Western audience and try to do what works in the market. Again, this always feels like it should be common sense, but so many Kpop companies just try to force Kpop into the West without any regards to what's actually preferable in the market. And then they get surprised when their projects don't do as well.

I saw on Tiktok that there was an afro-lantino Brazillian. Still, not sure if that is going to be enough for me. It still somehow feels really racist if the closest thing they have to black is some girl light skin latina with "white" features. It's the reason I didn't even bother with A2K. It's one thing to pull that kind of shit in Asia, but there is absolutely no excuse if you're doing this in America, a literal melting pot.

if it's not like this or giving 5th Harmony or little Mix, I don't want it.

Ways in which companies can do fraud without leaving a paper trail.

    - Using a paper company (ask Lee Soo Man, he knows very well).

    - Using a third party (streaming farms from China is just one example of this).

    - private funding (this can be personal or from an undisclosed lender)

    - "donations"

The point is, there are many ways for a company to do and get away with fraud. If leaving a paper trail behind or being listed publically was this insurmountable wall, then we would never hear of other companies getting charged with fraud.

There are probably many more ways that only insider people working in the business field know. Anyway, I think it's a little naive to think that a paper trail of all things can stop big corporations from engaging in unsavory business practices.

    You not making sense tbh.

Why would they spend that money doing Sajaegi on Xdinary Heroes (no offense)? Sajaegi is something you would only do sparingly as to not get caught, and only if the group absolutely needs the push. The group being their rookies or front runners, not groups like Xdinary Heroes where they hardly show interest in promoting as it is.

if we're talking not a console, then yeah, mine was also a PC game on windows 95. I really can't even remember what kind of game it was. I was too young. I only remember being in kindergarten when we were ushered into the school library and placed on these computers. They might have given us a floppy disk I think. I don't know if it's just my imagination making stuff up but I think there was some sort of purple dragon in the game.

As for the actual console, it was my brother's Nintendo 64. We played Pokemon and Mario and James Bond 007 a lot but I can't remember which was my very first.

    Edit:

I looked up the PC game just to make sure I wasn't just making shit up and it turns out the game does exist (Fun School 6 Magic Land). I'm surprised even though I have very few clear memories back then I was somehow able to retain this tidbit of information. Makes me wonder just how much of my memory that feels like vague made-up instances are actually based on truth (I have bad memory this is why it fascinates me).
