Everybody loves looking back with rose tinted glasses apparently, but NewJeans hands down. They are the #1 girl group in Korea in virtually every category and all of their songs completely dominated the charts. The only real mega hit SNSD had was Gee, yet they weren't even the second best charting girl group overall during 2nd gen. Not to mention NJ's international success which SNSD never had, even at 2nd gen standards.

Honey, CL alone has been mentioned more as an inspiration and role model more than all of Wonder Girls and Kara combined (as 2NE1's impact washes both of them). You're basing your godawful take off of 3 random knetz but streams (and people who are actually in the industry) prove otherwise.

Lmaoo 2NE1's songs has more streams on Melon & Spotify than Wonder girls and Kara combined so their music looks like it's been holding up a lot more then them. Young idols are the ones simping over 2NE1 and CL in this generation while practically nobody cares for WG or Kara...

There were a lot of 2nd tier second gen GGs that seemed to make noise. Seemed a lot deeper than it was in third gen when it was literally just TW/BP/RV and then later OMG at the very top. MMM, Apink, Brave Girls, AOA, EXID and Gfriend were the 2nd tier groups for third gen.

Sorry but I don't feel like Sistar belongs in the top tier, they never had the impact or sales like the other three.

Yeah it's always been odd how 2ne1 get shafted so often. Not even having their songs covered but also not being brought up often in knetz or media eyes compared to the usual suspects SNSD, WG, Kara, Sistar etc.
I guess it could be down to them not having a strong lasting legacy. They did very well until 2014 and then just peaced our, as a group and individually. Other gg was still around a bit longer in some form so their group and therefore songs are remembered more.
2NE1 not having a strong legacy? Lmao... many idols still call them and/or CL as inspirations so I think they do

For 2NE1 that 66 million claim includes both downloads and album sales (99% is digital sales, they were/are the top digital selling girl group). For SNSD, that claim also includes downloads and album sales, but its a decade old and they sold a lot more since then. As for BP and Twice, Gaon stopped publishing digital sales since 2018 so nobody knows how many downloads they have in total.
