Best generational girl group rivalry? SNSD vs 2NE1, Twice vs BlackPink, Aespa vs NewJeans?

Aespa and NewJeans feels more like Barbenheimer. Like we all know if they both release i have to buy BOTH albums, stream both songs, etc.

SNSD v 2ne1 i wasnt around for, 2ne1 had already died out amd it was clear SNSD would hold dominance to me

Twice reminds me of SNSD. Red velvet was their wondergirls at home, showing they can beat out the local girl groups easily. 2ne1 is like bp obv, showing Twice they can hold their own internationally too. The arguments though. The shade towards vocals… nayeons tone, momos nasaly talk sing, the shade towards their visuals compared to Irene and Joy… the talent…. Idek

I wouldn't call it friendly—there was definitely some bad blood—but it wasn't as ruthless as the debates we see today. It was more about issues between the fandoms rather than the group members themselves, or sometimes about the songs. I think this made the rivalry feel a lot more reasonable.

2NE1 vs SNSD actually feels like a real rivalry tho, since each member of BP alone is more popular than all of Twice

The stuff I see today is a pale imitation of what real fanwars used to entail.

Honestly I saw as many fights between Onces and Buddies as I did between Blinks and Onces.

BP had a powerful debut, but it was clear Twice was the alpha female group in 2016. And by the time BP rose to power from 2018-2019, Twice was starting to decline.

The two were never at their apex at the same time.

Even NewJeans and IVE were a much better rivalry, since their rises and peaks overlapped.
