What about the 2nd Gen SNSD/2NE1/Wonder Girls/Kara/Sistar
I could see a case for including T-ara over Kara.

10. There's Simply K-pop on Mondays! They have it every week
Simply K-Pop is broadcast on Fridays, not Mondays.
She reminds me a bit of Sunmi in that first photo.
This would be possible with overseas concerts it's one reason idols love USA concerts 🤣
It seems that you may be having some difficulty converting between KRW ₩ and USD $.
Even if we look at BTS, they "only" grossed $33.3 million over *four* shows at SoFi Stadium, which had a combined attendance of 214,000 (source). Thus, using BTS as a baseline, there's nobody who can come close to grossing $50 million per concert.
I was curious to get a sense of the relative popularity between all the contestants, so I've ranked them based on teasers views from the official Mnet YouTube channel:
First Batch (Posted May 19)
Purple Kiss - Yuki: 30K
Woo!ah! - Nana: 25K
TripleS - Jiwoo: 21K
Cherry Bullet - Bora: 18K
Cherry Bullet - Jiwon: 16K
Woo!ah! - Wooyeon: 13K
Weeekly - Seoeun: 10K
Cherry Bullet - Chaerin: 10K
Second Batch (Posted May 26)
NMB48 - Shiroma Miru: 35K
Rocket Punch - Juri: 15K
Fyegoodgurl - Faii: 10K
former AOA - Dohwa: 8.2K
TripleS - Seoyeon: 8K
Weeekly - Zoa: 6.2K
Rocket Punch - Suyun: 6.1K
H1-Key - Hwiseo: 5.4K
Weeekly - Soo Jin: 4.7K
Are there any surprises here?
As for a group CB overseas say sold out venues Gross over 50mil$ the agency it's promotors etc take their cuts and staff etc are paid and then the artist takes their cut. Lets say for the worst all this stuff eats up 90% of the cost per concert and the members which is so 9 members have to split at worst 8 to 9 million dollars.
I think your numbers are off here. There's nobody grossing USD $50 million per concert.
I'm surprised that you're not complaining about the members not wearing proper bikinis.
wishlist:
- proper bikini/swimsuit - don't wanna see some full rashguards or those swimsuits which are covering whole body like for some middle-schoolers
I'm reminded of this news article, which states:
According to data submitted by National Tax Service (NTS) upon request from Rep. Yang Kyung-sook of the ruling Democratic Party on Monday, 6,372 Korean singers that reported their 2018 annual income earned a total 409.5 billion won in income. The average income of each individual singer was 64.28 million won.
₩64.28 million is the equivalent of only USD $48,431, which isn't a very high annual income.
I think AoA is 3rd gen
but yeah no 2nd gen maybe MNet thought that it would be bad to bring someone, or they just didn't had money
because let's be honest if they've had some they could easily cast at least someone from Oh My Girl, or KARA
AOA debuted in 2012, and should considered Second Generation. Oh My Girl debuted in 2015, and is thus Third Generation.
I've updated my initial post to be current as of 2023-05-21. Highlights:
Itzy has higher concert tour attendance than any of the groups listed except Aespa. In fact, NewJeans and Le Sserafim haven't toured at all.
they have 4 visual but
Now I'm wondering, who's the non-visual member in Itzy?
It's largely due to her being the Main Dancer that isn't a "Cute Concept" role as the rest of the members tend to be thrown together as, of course she has the talent to back that up too.
She's representative of the typical Kpop fan the gravitates toward Girl Crush for Females, so largely the increased Western Fans.
That's an intriguing hypothesis, and one that does make some sense.
Thus, it appears that Momo is more popular outside of the Twice fandom than within it.
Given that it's now been a full year since Twice members have had personal Instagram accounts, I thought it'd be worthwhile to provide an update on where they each stand:
Some observations:
Is there anything else that you notice in the data?
I'm reminded of this video of Itzy singing So Chan-whee's Tears:
I was impressed by how well they (Yeji, mostly) handled the song, especially its notoriously difficult high notes. It's a better performance than most all their music show encore stages.
Alice is a Third Generation group, having debuted in 2017.
And that 7/12 of them would be released in 2022
And only one song from before 2018. It appears that the rise of (mass?) streaming has irreparably altered chart behaviour.
The "but do I look like your mommy?" line was quite popular at Itzy's US concerts (due to the slang meaning of "mommy").
