Idk if it's due to complexity I see in some of the boy routines that I just automatically think they are at a higher level and it's these kpop choreographers giving these girls cookie cutter routines below their level...

Physically speaking, BG choreos are harder because on average guys have more stamina to handle harder choreography.
GGs focus more on the overall image and stage appearance of the choreo harder than purposely making moves complicated. For example, IZ*ONE choreo especially focuses on the overall image and making the dance look elegant and cohesive. Loona too
But of course, there are GG choreo which are also physically more demanding, like ITZY's choreo.

GFriend are good dancers. Their choreos may not be as showy as BTS's, but they have good choreo and formations as well.
I dont think the groups who have flop choreo have it because they cant execute harder ones.
I think it is the companies wanting the female idols to keep with the unthreatning girlfriend concept. There are plenty of women who can dance the same choreo as men, but it would be perceived as too aggressive or suggestive. It is a legitimate double standard. This is why the only GG I've come across that I liked was Glam because they had a Break dancing/hip hop female dancer.
I think it's more like dance is not the main focus for girlgroups.

Male idols get pants and sneakers, I doubt they would be doing what choreos they are if they had to deal with that. Plus, as icyruios said above, men are physically stronger.

And im not saying it needs to be more physically demanding necessarily. You can have something that's complex that doesn't leave you drenched in sweat lol.
I think the majority of them would be entirely capable of handling more demanding choreo (in or out of heels) so it seems to me to be mostly a choice.
Its not about complex dance. Its all about trending dance. Easy dance to mimic. Easy to go viral. More popularity. Win!

I think its because certain companies don't make girls learning dance a priority which is why they seem less skilled. It also probably has something to do with music and concept, GGs on average have more softer concept that don't require heavy dances vs BGs which have a lot of dark heavy music that need a powerful dance to complement it.
Though in this gen especially is very dance centric so both genders are putting in effort.
Not calling any groups out in particular just something I noticed in general.
But hmm good point... I could have a bias for legwork... I think tutting and stuff is cool though and I do find that complex, which the girls do more of.
