Kpop should be fun, not a job.

No one is paying you. You are not obligated to do or say anything simply because you are a fan of a group.

Don't enjoy a song? Then don't listen to it. Don't have room in the budget to buy an album? Enjoy the extra space in your home that not having a collection gives you. Don't feel like streaming? Listen whenever and however you want. It's all good.

You don't have to defend or promote a song you think is bad. You don't have to watch every members' fancams if you are only interested in one. You don't have to have to force yourself to have the same level of excitement for anything and everything your faves do.

Just don't crap on the members or other people's parades. Be respectful. And if you're a fan, try to be open-minded and give changes and new things a chance before making a decision. After that tho, the decision is up to you.

I hope everybody finds something that brings them joy in kpop.

That's true. Some people really enjoy the process of doing the work to get achievements or whatever. That's valid. As long as you are not pushing other people to do it when they don't want to or looking down on them when they don't, you do you. We all enjoy different things.

Yeah, unfortunately i think it's easy to lose sight of it. People get upset or defensive or competitive and forget that all this is for enjoyment. We are all here coz we love something about kpop. I wish we all could cut each other some slack, whether it's fans of other groups or even our fellow stans. I find akp so much more fun and relaxing when I'm interacting with lots of different people and seeing all the different ways people enjoy kpop. Anyway, in the end, is just music y'all.

Yes, there's way too much gatekeeping and people judging other's stan cred unfortunately. I think there's a lot of different ways to be a fan and enjoy your faves. Like I don't follow social media or watch a lot of non music content. I honestly don't know the ins and outs of my faves. What I do do is listen to their music. A LOT. Like Spotify told me that I'm in the 0.05 top listeners for one of my faves. Are people really gonna try to tell me that I'm not a fan if I don't know the leader's birthday? Or if I don't obsessively follow teasers for every cb? I love the music with my whole heart. Isn't that enough?

Should fans feel obligated to financially support their faves? And to what extent. What if it's not in their budget? What if they have other priorities? What if they just don't feel moved to purchase stuff simply coz they enjoy the music?

Oh i wasn't trying to put words in your mouth and realize now that it sounded aggressive. I was just trying to pose those questions to spark discussion. Are fans justified in holding other fans responsible if a group fails for not doing enough?
