No, I wouldn't defend it.
I think straight bashing is a wrong thing to do, I would rather see someone explain why do they think it's bad and maybe have a conversation about it. I like to listen to other people's opinions, but only the people that know how to elaborate and politely explain their reasons, this is always interesting.
Also, as always MissBehave the only person to make interesting threads on akp. This forum is lucky to have you, without you there are mostly shady threads or just always the same threads trying to discover who's leading what and who belong in which generation, as if this is all what kpop is about.

But I don’t insult or criticize EXO or their songs in general discussion threads or like tell other non fans how much I hate exo song/disco and I don’t like fans who do so as well and if you do so yeah I’ll prolly be snarky

Yeah, I'm talking about if someone was like "X song is terrible. It's boring, derivitive, and the structure is bad. Plus, the members don't even sound good in it. I can't believe that got released."

I try very hard to find something nice to say about my non-faves' songs, because I know it's unpleasant to see someone who isn't a stan bashing your faves, but I have no problem criticizing my faves' songs without having to actively look for something nice to say, lol.

Haha it's ok, with your threads you're encouraging interesting debates, but you can't know which way the discussion will go, that's up to users.
Exactly, obviously we all have different tastes and that's fine, it's always interesting to hear other people viewpoints, if they know how to share them respectfully.

I think some people get defensive and will fight against hearing anything negative said about their faves even if they privately agree. It's especially true if it comes from a non-fan. It's kinda like that whole attitude of I can make fun of my sister, but I'll fight anyone else who insults her.

if it comes from someone i know and i like, i would be more receptive to it
if it comes from someone i've seen bash my faves on the regular, i'll probably say something shady in response

Lol. yeah I totally would. Luckily there's not much censorship/toxic positivity in the NCT fandom. Although, saying that - I think a bit more respect is probably needed in Ncity....
I used to be a BTS fan (just casual now) and spent more time in ARMY spaces a few years ago and yeah criticism was not welcome or tolerated back then at least..
