I think for the type of performance and music I tend to like, with some exceptions like when all of NCT performs together as an special occasion, I feel like more than 10 members is too much, and less than 5 members often come as underwhelming, so I think from 5 to 10 members is the ideal group size to me.

5 - 7 is perfect imo. NCT usually function more in their respective subunit than as a whole so, it just like stanning 3 group that had a lot of interaction and project together. Its always fun and entertaining.

I prefer small groups of four or five but having said that I stan BTS and they have seven. I think smaller groups makes the group more intimate for fans and easier to recognize with names and faces.

My preference is 5-7 members. For bigger groups, I tend to be a casual listener only. It's hard to like all members enough to stan in a group that has many members and I can only stan if I like all the members. Twice is an exception tho

Yup. Seven is the max, and even then, if the whole group doesn't gel then it still feels off. Can't stand large groups; I feel like they're hiding something. Like, you really don't need that many people.

I used to think big groups were pointless, but I ended liking Pristin a lot.

EXO with 12 members was nice to see performing too.

It mattered to DSP during 1st gen. They came out with Sechskies, Fin.K.L, and Click B - all 3 groups had 1 more member than H.O.T, S.E.S, and Shinhwa respectively

Not really. I usual discover new songs from Spotify, or sometimes here, so size doesn't t factor in.😗

i don’t think it does and honestly with some many guys in a group, one of them is bound to be hung, so that’s why i prefer bigger groups

I'll come at the issue from an financial perspective...

assuming ceteris paribus, a smaller group means each member gets a bigger slice of the pie...whether it be more time to shine or more $$$

one might argue that a soloist selling 100K albums has the same profitability (to her) as Twice selling 900K albums

The size doesn't bother me. I'm there for the music so I don't care if that's 4 people or 21.

(Plus honestly each NCT unit is only 7-9 members.)

I think for many 4 or 5 is perfect number. But I think groups woth 9 memberd have the most beautiful performances. Exo, twice, snsd, 9muses and even Pentagon (even tho I don't stan them but they have beautiful performances).

Groups with 9 members also have good balance. Enough members for vocal, dance, rap, visual positions.
