See, the two times I've used tiktok, I would use for like... less than an hour... then I would forget about it for months. Tiktok just isn't for me I guess.
Yeah, for some reason I find YouTube shorts more addicting.
Like I had TikTok but I would open it seldomly, watch some videos and get bored and not use the app for like a LONG time afterwards.
Some people never get off and spend hours daily on it. Me? I never really spent more than hour scrolling through videos. And that tactic (scrolling through) is so smart because (1) it gets people addicting to watching as they are probably bored and once they start, they can't stop and (2) because videos are randomized (but some are based on your subscriptions/followed and liked/hearted videos), it gives smaller creators the chance to have their channel recognized.
On YouTube, the shorts feature has done miracles to get so many YouTubers recognized and get many millions of views!

Yeah I agree that scrolling thing definitely gets people addicted... not me though, but yeah it works.
Didn't know that about shorts. It's cool YouTubers can get noticed that way!

Yeah lol...and I used to keep up with the TikTok trends especially in junior high, TikTok was like the biggest thing. That and Snapchat was basically downloaded on every students' phone 🤣 And I was like "why are you guys so into TikTok???" I didn't say that because I know I would've gotten some awkward stares.
But I remember the Renegade dance was the BIGGEST thing. Everyone was doing it, referencing it or trying to learn it, and when I finally learned the full thing it became a big deal for me. And I also had a friend that was obsessed with the dance and TikTok in general and I did it so, so much that even I started to annoy her 🤣🤣🤣😅😅😅
I agree! It's so wholesome! Some YouTubers started doing shorts completely because it's honestly easier to get into peoples' feeds than to post the classic, non-vertical videos. Which because of the complicated YT algorithm, those videos are a lot harder to get views and subscribers on.

See, I feel like I tend to get into things after the fact? like, vine came before tiktok right? And it was big in middle school, but I avoided in like the plague (that's me being soOoOoo quirky and emo *cringe* ). Then after it was taken down, I started watching vine compilations, and like to this day, vines are still a core part of my humor
So idk, maybe I will get into tiktok after the fact too, but tiktok's not going anywhere soon I think!
Ah yeah. It's nice that YouTubers have other options to get an audience. I love that honestly.

Oh, I know what you mean! I'm not sure if I'm like that I love Vine videos though I think I was probably too young to remember when Vine became super popular. Or at least, when it was, probably no one really had phones my age. And most popular trends became popular around school.
Yeah, most likely not! I remember when there were rumors that the US was going to ban TikTok like some countries because of it being from a Chinese company or something. But other than that, I think in the US, TikTok is so popular that I don't think it'll shut down for a LONG while. I remember when TikTok was musical.ly tho...even more cringe to me (it stopped being musical.ly in like 6th grade or smth for me).
Yep! I agree. As a YouTube creator, you have to be pretty smart when making uploads. Like you have to keep in mind (especially if you don't have a lot of devoted subscribers who will check out a lot of your uploads) if the topic is trendy right now and if it's something that people would search up and end up finding your video. Like a LOT of videos are found by people searching up something and finding that specific video. It's actually surprising to me how few of your subscribers check out a lot of your content. And other things too.

Yeah vines have become I guess an influence for those even younger than me like yourself. I think it's cool, and I wonder how long they will last in the future.
Yup Tiktok keeps getting bigger and bigger. I do remember ban discussions though.
Oh yeah for sure with YouTubers... it's honestly really hard to establish yourself nowadays especially with the bohemeaths of content that comes out constantly... even some once popular youtubers decades ago didn't last until now, but some adapted. idk if you're familiar with Jacksfilms, but his content from the mid to late 2000's is very different compared to what he makes now. Meanwhile, his contemporaries like Tobuscus (though Toby has more problems that hindered him than just content tbh...) and others just haven't adapted as well.... it's interesting to say the least lol

Yeah, definitely. And I find them pretty iconic and entertaining 😊
Yep, it's basically dominating the world now especially among teenagers and young adults 😌
Oh, yeah, I know what you mean. Thousands and thousands of videos are being uploaded every single day and creators have to find out a way to constantly keep the heart of viewers. I'm not familiar with these YouTubers but I think that a good example would be those who played Minecraft regularly. A lot of them have switched to other games like Roblox and Fortnite because, even though Minecraft is still extremely popular among players, people aren't watching others play it like they used to. Like the Little Club are a group of friends and family YouTubers who used to play Minecraft for basically all their uploads, now it's mostly games that appeal to what's trendy now. There has been a large decline in predominantly Minecraft YouTubers lately.
I feel like it may be especially hard to do content mainly for kids. Their preferences are ever changing and on YouTube, these YouTubers pleasing kids have times where they aren't making a lot of money if it's their full time job (especially during school). And you can't do a lot of things or change too drastically because kids are so picky on who they watch on YouTube and can lose interest in certain Tubers they used to avidly watch if their content doesn't suit their tastes anymore.

Yeah for sure. I noticed with gamer youtubers they will play games that kind of go viral or get a following for a bit, then switch to the next one. Like games like fnaf, cuphead, etc. stuff like that were basically a trend for them to hop on.
Yeah I don't know much about kid content but I do see how they could be less predictable sometimes... kids content tends to have a more brighter feeling with the vibrant colors and stuff, but outside of that I wouldn't be sure where to start with that kind of stuff haha. It's an interesting market I suppose.

Get the app, search #funny, or whatever shows you enjoy; after a few days, it will learn what you enjoy. There are tons of amusing videos and fascinating art available. People may truly express themselves on it and through it, just as with other social media. Even if you don't have many admirers at the beginning, many Tik Free Followers can help you with that. However, the main algorithm is incorrect before customizing it for your preferences. The dances are silly yet entertaining since you have participated in dance fads at some point. It's just people doing their thing, having fun, making art, whatever you want to do.
