Songs and albums will be judged by quality and it seems like in Korea BTS are acclaimed by critics

About Apple Music tbh not a single group beside them are doing great on Apple Music only blackpink and maybe twice are close

MAMA isn't a global award it's domestic one because if that was the case many other artists from other countries should be eligible for the award but that's not how it goes with MAMA BTS are competing with other korean artists

Wow why are people preemptively panicking at the thought that more objectivity/critical analysis will go into who wins these awards. That's the way awards everywhere else work (Grammys, BRIT awards etc).

This is a good change in my opinion regardless of who ends up winning.

If MAMA snubs them from the artist daesang, everyone will either celebrate or be outraged. Either way, MAMA gets their ratings.

And if they snub BE from the album category, that will be another wild reaction. But it doesn't take away BE's success, 3.7M sales and 2.1B digital points (and counting) won't ever go away. Everyone will know what the real most successful album is.

They can change rules left, right and center but BTS will still be printed on that little piece of paper! These Award bodies should stop giving false hopes to other groups.

Your opinion is yours, but there are people who'll disagree with you including me. Butter will be their main SOTY contender, PTD is a little less successful and My Universe is too new to be considered.

MAMA are the most local Korean awards that one can get even though one A stands for Asia...
