Time to promote forgotten arts
Internationally not as big as BP.
I've read on twt Next Level's first few months sales/streams are better than Whistle and PWF?
Dunno but they have already dominated 4th gen lmaoo I bet money yg new group will put out a hit that can rival Next Level maybe stayc

ThreadMove Over National Hit, Here comes Really Really Top Big Hit Song based on Korean data and metricsThis paper was co-authored by selfmate and @keaji
The term National Hit has caused mass confusion, debates, arguments, fights, fanwars and discussions between people in the kpop community and beyond
Thus, we of the kpop megachurch research division in our infinite wisdom have decided that the use of the term National Hit is out-fashioned and outdated and not suited to kpop moving in the 21st century.
We therefore have used multiple sources covering the journal articles, literary sources, online…
Oh god,
not again
We'll have to find better ways to educate them.
Way too soon to say right now Aespa should focus on there album sales. Even if savage underperforms to next level It will still be a hit and Next Level is not leaving top 5 anytime soon

But the impact internationally isn't. BP broke records left and right internationally and their charting was better too.
Twice's rookie year ended up with them having the biggest song in SK, the biggest kpop song in Japan which was also viral over a lot of E/SE Asia (and reigniting interest back into the market giving them a base in which they would dominate the 3rd gen there for the next 2 or so years), the highest placed group on Gallup in 2nd, TT broke and held multiple kpop youtube records and the 5th best selling album of the year on Gaon only behind 2 BTS/EXO albums selling nearly 4 times more than the next GG (and more than every BG bar two obviously).
Even ignoring the relative aspect as kpop is much bigger now internationally it only becomes a conversation if their new comeback is a smash hit and takes them way beyond SK.
Yes.
I mean NL was so big. It's success is comparable to Cheer Up and probably even with TT Combined.
If Savage is a smash hit then no doubt aespa's success is comparable to BP's & Twice's
Internationally though we're not sure since BP has a like a big wall surrounding South Korea and groups can't get out of it shsussbsjsjsh
Is it safe to say that I'm getting bored of these threads

I think it is
well it's possible
if Savage do well then yes
they already got a lot of CF for very big brand in Korea and internationnally so in term of CF they are doing better than Twice and Blackpink was doing in their first year
now let's see if they can compete with the sales than Twicecoaster and square up had in their first year
and see if Savage can do as well than TT and PWF did when they were release
Yes
Cheer Up and TT were national hits in Korea and Japan. It will take more than just that lol
Savage would have to absolutely smash to be considered up there. Twice became ngg after cheer up success, that's how big it was.
No '-'
Twice became the NGG after the success of TT
Cheer up made them a solid contender for the NGG GG but there were not consider the NGG yet, because they were still competing with Gfriend who just had Me gustas tu success who was huge too
it's when Twice released TT and knock knoc back to back that they became consider as the NGG
because they won against Gfriend after Gfriend release rough and navillera who did great but not as well than TT
Display MoreYes.

Next Level is def a huge hit, but it was no where as impactful as Cheer Up was
As others have mentioned, unlikely. Cheer up was too huge and TT international impact was also huge.
Also no one is mentioning Like ooh ahh and how much longevity it had on the charts and how it was the most downloaded 3rd gen debut song in Korea. Twice had 3 huge hits in their first year.

Cheer up made them ngg level in popularity while their follow up hits solidified it and people couldn't deny their title anymore.
In all honesty Gfriend only ever competed with twice in digitals briefly while twice eclipsed them in popularity and album sales. Even then MGT and Rough were big hits but Cheer up was much bigger.

There is nothing wrong to be positive about your fav group but You just say anything... at their peak twice were THE TOP GROUP they got 2 national hits back to back, broke YouTube records, they were everywhere and racked at least 9 cfs in 8 months and lets not talk about blackpink they were the first group ever to debut with a PAK
Blackpink also released this once they were 10 months old, so it was part of their rookie year?
