Frankly both IU and BTS are beyond the point of caring about awards, particularly BTS.

But awards shows can't afford to antagonize fandoms, particularly ARMY.

MAMA and IU don't have a good record, MAMA also tends to shun soloists (again fandom factor), it is also agenda driven.

MMA has 60% on digital sales, unless they change that, IU has it locked.

GDA is also 60% sales from Gaon digital, so IU again. GDA is reasonably neutral

All might want to spread the awards - so IU might end up getting only AOTY or ArOTY - the remaining 40% can be useful to give the judges a leeway. The only one which seems purely quantitative is Gaon.

Anyway BTS releasing or not releasing, will have the least impact only "she who can't be named".

All I wish is that they find someway to recognize,

1. Brave Girls.

2. Aespa - NL

3. Justin Beiber

4. Oh My Girl

By the way, are there any decent competition to IKMU for Collaboration of the year?

Though Nakka is not my favorite Collab.

SOTY at MAMA will most likely go to Butter based on criteria. It includes voting, physicals and judges, Butter should have a large gap to others in most of these, which should make up the digitals gap with Celebrity.

For GDA, I have done calculation according to the new rule. 2 songs are really close to each other. Won't mention cuz want some loud people keep screaming, will love to see when they fall on face eating caramelized popcorn.

How exactly did you do the calculations for the new rule? afaik they've only said they will take first month + total into account, not how the will calculate it ?

MAMA - again "Best Female Artist".

That the is thing with Awards, they too are businesses and can't afford to antagonize powerful fandoms, so will twist to keep them all happy - hence they keep a '%' reserved to make such adjustments. or pursue the agendas of their bosses.
