ARMY will be doing this
and then have the audacity to say they are mainstream and their success is organic

when even the mod is farming akorns on your thread :ak_rose_hyperdab:
if you think i care about looking cool to a bunch of social outcast basement dwelling kpop lovers who spend their time on a kpop forum then you're wrong.
There have been an unusually high concentration of troll threads about BTS lately
it comes with success
A song that is supported by the general public ???
If Army was to ditch their crowdfunding methods, both permission to dance and butter would drop out of the BB200 because it is not organically pushed - meaning, the american general public isn't listening to it, buying it and therefore helping it maintain it's chart placement.

and how do you know what the general public likes when payola (among other things) is everywhere? ditch the payola first, then we'll see what gp actually likes, let songs grow organically. none of the songs are organic, it's the method that's different

You're right. It doesn't even mean anything.

The GP isn't listening to the Hot 100, a lot of people don't listen to what BB deems "popular". Only younger people do, and they're not all of America.
You're not gonna tell me parents and full-time workers are streaming and buying Stay by The Kid Laroi, most Americans wouldn't know the fuck he is.

Organically pushed meaning payola, playlisting and the likes?
With BTS, it's easy to see what songs are popular with the Korean GP.
GP favorites: Dyna and BWL
Cult classics with great longevity that are super popular with casual and hardcore Army: Butter and Spring Day
One week wonders that are unknown to GP: DNA, Idol, Fake Love, On
Underperformers: LGO, PTD, Black Swan, Mic Drop
(I excluded Savage Love because that's a Derulo song, BTS are guest stars)
With respect to Dyna and Butter specifically, they both got major push by Columbia, Perry was quoted as saying he was gonna make it his personal mission to get #1 for BTS on Hot 100 with Dyna. Dyna was specifically designed to accomplish this purpose, it really wasnt about BTS creatively at all since they had no input. We all know about the 800 remix versions as well.
However, i still think Dyna was more "organic" in terms of its appeal and popularity than Butter. I think it genuinely made some American GP take notice of BTS, with the language barrier gone. I HATE the song but it's clear that people here genuinely enjoyed it.
Butter was coproduced by Perry himself and his SO. Does anyone really think Perry would've let Butter flop? I'm sure Sony and Columbia DID EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to get Butter its megahit status. Whatever it took, they did. This is definitely the least organic hit this year. The sad thing is, it's a much better song than Dyna (and PTD is better still).

Possible, i can see rando Korean GP liking it since it's a ballad. Personally i dont see the appeal, it's decent, but BTS has much better ballads out there. Like Magic Shop could be the best boy ballad in history ngl, and to see Spring Day get this kind of recognition instead makes me .
Since some of you obviously don't know how GP works here is a fact. None of your favs are popular with the "GP", well unless you stan Michael Jackson.
The GP that listen to music aren't GP. They are music fans. Those aren't GP. GP is someone that doesn't listen to music or atleast the specific type of music.
You may get a few people from the GP interested but you won't have the attention of atleast a quarter of the GP.
But GP is the source of every single "fan"
Casual fans, hardcore fans etc. I was part of the GP(in musical terms) until I started listening to Ariana Grande, then I became a casual fan and eventually a hardcore fan.
The only way you can even measure "GP" growth is fandom growth. How many casual fans are you turning into hardcore fans?
Basically, the actual GP isn't interested in your favs.
