For 2021 since BP didn't have any comeback this year so far. I'll probably replace them with Brave Girls tbh.
Also f(x) for 2012 is a bit....
Blackpink are doing way better internationally though

BTS should definitely get 2017.
2NE1 and SNSD could both go either way for 2009 and especially 2010.
SISTAR had hit songs, but they never dominated any year as a whole.
SNSD blew away 2ne1 and everyone else in 2009 and 2010. It's not even close.
SNSD came out with Gee in 09 which alone cemented their place but had another hit with Genie. They took over TV and swept the award shows
2010 they were more dominant. 3 big hits with Oh, RDR and Hoot. They swept awards again, this time even winning a disk daesang which was huge. Their media presence was even more massive than last year as they were constantly featured on TV, mags,CF etc
The only time 2ne1 arguably beat SNSD was 2014. SNSD had no Cb in 2012 so 2ne1 obviously beat them by default. Sistar definitely performed better than 2ne1 in 2012 and arguably 2014 deepening on how you look at it (Sistar has the better performing songs but 2ne1 had better album sales).

2NE1 had several hits in 2010 and even won a daesang of their own. Of course I wasn't into Kpop back then so I only know what I know now through my own research. I still disagree about 2010 being cut and dry, but I'll concede SNSD for 2009.
Like I said SNSD were even more dominant in 2010 than 2009. If you ask any people into kpop back then you'll see SNSD was simply running away with popularity both with music and non music activities. It wasnt even close, they were already that dominant.
As for daesangs 2ne1 daesangs came from mama. This was when Mnet had banned all SM artists including SNSD since 2009 because of some business beef between SM and Mnet parent company. SNSD as a result missed out on multiple music show wins on m countdown and multiple daesangs at mama (they won on every other awards shows both years so they'd very likely have won at mama too).

As fearless i liked you post and looking at gaon points i would agree for the musical part. but since it said most popular i guess that one still goes to Blackpink.
well op is f(x) stan so yeah, i had the same tought...
Blackpink are doing way better internationally though
title said in korea, so we overseas fans are out. it depends if op mean musical success or popularity.
Musical like Gaon Points would go to Brave Girls.
Popularity like Brand Reputation would go to Blackpink.
imo. Anyway 2021 is not over now. After Lisas solo and Brave Girls repackage both groups can still release another album.

Oops I didn't read the title
I only said that cause OP never put Bigbang on the list unless they made a comeback in that particular year. So I think the same rule should be applied to 2021 as well.

2020: BTS/Blackpink
2021: BTS/Blackpink
While I normally love watching Blinks and Once argue it's not needed in this thread. Blackpink did NOT surpass Twice in Korea until last year. Remember Twice was called NATIONS GIRL GROUP. Blackpink has been AMERICAS GIRL GROUP since day 1.
Nice try there pal but
In 2016 Bts was at the top with wings becoming the first album to sell 1 million copies since the 90s and blood sweat tears amazing digital.
In 2017 bts was at the top with no competition. Billboard awards, US debut, amazing Spring day DNA digital, Love yourself her sold over 2 million and YNWA sold over 1 million. Was Exo ever at top realistically because exo had stiff competition from big bang and bts. Exo never got to rest easy even at their peak.
i had expected Sistar or T-ara for 2012. Alone was Song of the year in 2012. They also had loving u that year.
T-ara had lovey dovey, cry cry, day by day, sexy love.
Not sure how f(x) get 2012. As far as i know they only had an electric shock.
Jokes aside. Op may not know it but in reality Crayon Pops Dancing Queen and Brave Girls Nowadys You were the best songs of 2012.
Electric Shock mini album sold over 90k. Crazy good for 2nd gen girl groups. Sistar and T-ara combined couldn't get close to those numbers.
Electric Shock almost sold 3 million singles also.
