That one account of the pastor finding out what happened to the teenage youth that disappeared is so heartbreaking. Someone posted it earlier in the thread. That might haunt me. Seungri being involved in something like that no matter the capacity and he only got 3 years is so weird i can't even. It's disappointing and depressing. I would actually argue since he is so high profile they should've come down harder on him to serve as an example for the rest of the same trash.

You can argue about semantics until you're blue but the fact of the matter is they had enough evidence to convict him of being a mediator of prositution. That alone tell me he's an awful person who thinks the lowest of women.

ripia just made a new copy of that thread to start anew after how badly it got derailed. The original thread (with all replies) is still in existence. It's just temporarily hidden for now. I might merge it with this one at a later point.
But anyway, on topic, I agree Seungri is a horrible person. The revealed messages containing derogatory language he used to describe women said it all. With or without these crimes considered, that should tell us everything we need to know about him as a person.

None of them are Seungri supporters. The only avid Seungri supporters on AKP are the few who keep updating the "Seungri defense" thread or whatever it's called.

Why not discuss the case in a new thread instead of being fixated on other users? The goal should be to have discussion pertaining to the topic, not AKP drama or what posts to keep receipts on.

Exactly. It's just really sickening, even with how korean men talk about women and the feminism movement reflects the justice systems punishment regarding criminals and their assault against women. It makes me so upset that a lot of women have to fear knowing that their assaulter can walk free in only a couple years when they should be in jail for the rest of their lives.

So they get nothing until their debt is paid and if they don’t make it big in the group - this is a way they can pay it back.
No wonder the suicide rate is high among girls. And their birth rate is low.

Yeah I've seen that too, a lot of girl group members have to work part time to pay off the debt from their company. It's really unfair, it just shows how kpop trainees and idols barely have any protection from the unfair treatment by companies. I've heard that the birth rate is low because a lot of men have too high standards of women and most young adults think having kids is a burden since it interferes with their jobs. I really haven't seen any big improvement in korea in terms of the treatment of women, it's just messed up. It sucks because I know a lot of kpop fans romanticize Korea like it's the best country ever, when in reality it is very messed up.
This 9muses documentary really opened my eyes to the extent that females have to go through in kpop in comparison to male kpop idols, it's really sad to see how the company was so abusive to them.
