I'm more worried for the group songs than the solos. Ever since i saw the making music with tedder and brown again and also the demo snippet for ready for love had me worried. Tommy managed to make the worst songs in their discography and ready for love that we heard from the docu sounded beyond generic and dated, something we've heard a thousand times, and it was made by Teddy... Idk i still have my hopes for Lisa's solo though

Ready for love is a bop and just because a song is generic doesnt mean it is bad..
I would take ready for love over alot of the album songs.

Lisa is the most right (Hip-Pop) leaning member of the group and that's one of her strengths. If they don't play to her strengths in at least one of the solo tracks, I think people might be left feeling disappointed after serving up so many highlight raps in Blackpink songs.

Umm i don't think that was the problem with her song. Personally i find the chorus sound very entertaining, however the rest of the song is giving...nothing. It's good production but i'm afraid this is gonna be one of those songs you listen to a few times before forgetting it existed. There's nothing catchy about it, or a melody that will stick in your head and that is key in pop music. It can be try hard/experimental and still be catchy.
Speaking of solo's I loved Jennie's and Rose's ending parts, the rest of the songs were a bit meh for me but the ending where they go off is everything. I'm still waiting for a blackpink solo song that i will enjoy from start to finish
I imagine Lisa either with some sort of a dance track like something from Chromatica but with a rap part and sick choreo, or more of an r'n'b type of song.

Hylt was very disappointing at first and I made a whole rant on it. OTG by Rose also didn't hit the mark tbh.
We've heard from BP that Lisa use to top all her monthly evaluations so I'd like to see some of that being showcased in her solo... if the song itself is mediocre then nothing can honestly save it so I'm hoping and praying they don't go the lazy route... They can make the DJ snake collab short and generic, however they want to gain streams but stay away from Lisa solo. I hope her solo helps her shine more and brings out Lisa and not just Blackpink Lisa...
I'm just as worried. The high budget MV for Somi can't mask the basic song. I actually would have preferred if the drop was more up beat? The drop just felt, flat. I'm kind of sick of drops in general, like I just feel like the black label gives Somi such trash songs. And for Lisa, I wouldn't expect much out of teddy. Maybe it will be good, maybe it won't. Well just have to wait and see.

Even though I don't follow Somi I usually look forward to her comeback and have also liked her previous releases.
With this comeback its quite shocking that Teddy would let her release such a mediocre song inspite of having a long hiatus...
Teddy has mostly done good with BP and even though he doesn't delivery on quantity there is a certain level of quality he is known for but with release its kinda making we worry for Lisa.
