Cheer Up is a bit more surprising since Blackpink were hooter rookies than Twice when they debuted.

I means lots of people were laughing when JYP announce they were debuting a 9 members group, Twice. Well, before Cheer Up was dropped that is....

That song pretty much makes them even more butthurt for years. Damn, feelin nostalgic all of a sudden.

Definitely Cheer Up. No one would have thought a group that just debuted six months ago and JYPE wasn't that hot during that time, would have the biggest hit that year and have a true national hit.

DDDD was from YGE who was still hot during that time and although the song was a hit, it wasn't even the biggest hit of the year.

Cheer Up, twice were only 6 months old during that time and LOA didn't do well when it was first released

D4, BP had a whole year hiatus however they were already a hit when they debuted and AIIYL did very well also, so i think a lot of people were actually anticipating their long-awaited comeback.

I think it's cheer up.. since Loa wasn't successfull debut, but BP already had hits

D4 had its debut with 1m UL's for a reason. YG were still on top with the public with Ikon only a few months before having the biggest song of the year. The only idols to get 1m UL's in the first 24 hours in 2018 (and since) were Big Bang, BP and Jennie. YG music was consistently the most anticipated.

Before Twice blew up JYPE were being touted as not being part of the big 3 anymore and Cheer Up was their first comeback.

People quoting hiatuses whilst seemingly ignoring that the public are used to YG artist having a long time between releases. One of their schticks is the quality over quantity spiel.

How are people calling LOA an unsuccessful debut?  

It didn’t top the charts upon its release, yes but it was a sleeper hit and easily among the most successful debuts of all time. It spent freaking 50 weeks in Melon Top 100.

OT, I would say both. BP came back after 1 year hiatus and TWICE were still rookies.
