Have you ever won anything in your life? like a competition or raffle or the lottery?

Yep. I won $500 in the scratchies once. I bought a stereo with it. The newsagent said that was the most anyone had one there. It was around Christmas in 1990. Haven’t been able to repeat it since unfortunately.

the most i've one is a talent show (trophy for first place) and a spelling bee (a cheap rip-off of the monopoly board game lol)

The most I've won is one of those company freebie level of mp3 player. Lasted a week and then just gave up the ghost.

Oh my local church has this calendar raffle thing, where if you buy a calendar you get put in this pool for money, and you have a chance of being pulled each month. I won some small amounts of cash from that.

I also won some kind of lottery ticket way back. My family bought a bunch of tickets together, and my ticket gave me $20... which is about the price that was paid for all the tickets my fam bought altogether, so like, we essentially got refunded lel.

i won a guess the number of jellybeans i got 2nd place the store that was hosting it gave me random stuff out of their store it was really fun. i also won some of those in elementary school like 3 of them.

I think I won a notebook in my school days. After that, I never won anything especially in the lottery

from 2012-2018 I used to read a magazine that is sold in my country.

Basicly said there is a company who runs since around 2001 a magazine about anime and manga in 2004 they introduced a section about Japanese culture in it and than realised the anime-market is growing more and more so they decdied to split it up by only putting a small bit about anime and manga into their magazine and creating a new magazine just for anime and manga aswell as another magazine for gaming. In 2016 the same company than also released a version about Korea.

So the Japanese one is now mainly focused on the japanese cutlure, Japanese music, anime, manga and videogames. You often also will find interviews with Japanese musicians, stories about upcoming animes, food recipes, interesting facts about Japan, a small list of vocabulary in case some reader learn Japanese,... etc. and the Korean one is basicly the same, just without a anime and manga section but a bigger section about videogames.

In I think 2013 they asked on their fanpage on Facebook if people would love to win items. The whole month before easter they asked different questions and what of the named object you wanted to win. On the day I won, they said they give out different Playstation and 3Ds games aswell as a CD. I never had a Playstation or a 3DS so I said I wanted to win the CD. I had no idea who the artist is tho but I still just tried. The question they had for that day was to name a music-artist who means a lot to you and I was heavly into the music of Ayumi Hamasaki back than so I wrote how she was the 3rd Japanese artist I found and cause I loved her music so much I got into more Japanese music and so I won the CD

If you want to know what CD I won:

• A metalband from Austria
• The band is circus-themed
• The band has 4 male and 1 female member
• 1 male member and the female member are vocalists
• The female member only dressed in Japanese lolita-fashion
• They had 7 songs in English, 1 song in German and 1 song in Japanese on the album
• Literally all their songs were pretty violent like ripping someone's guts off

Actually, I wanted to visit my friend here in India for some time....

You know the ones where you scratch the card and get the lottery? That's what happened.

I won a year end award in art college for most creative work when I was in my second year. I won a Samsung tablet and a glass statue of the college logo.

Does doing competitive sports count?

To be honest, I’m not lucky and barely remember winning anything. But I got lucky by marrying my husband who is always winning stuffs. He won few electrical appliances during raffles, won a tiny gold bar at a dinner event, won a Samsung phone (it was the latest model at that time and he gave it to me), and the latest (early 2020 before covid), he won an overseas trip (just before the pandemic), all inclusive package (2 weeks) and he can bring one person (me).

So I’m lucky by proxy lol
