Well, let's see. Taking their most recent album as a baseline, at least as many it sold, so at least 2.27M.
In that debacle, a lot of ARMY were confused when BE dropped and thought "Deluxe" and the expensive price tag meant there would be another version dropping. China bars also saw a fresh surge of anti-BTS movement in their country and it decreased some sales from there. The other version did eventually drop (Essentials) but not until much later.
If it was to happen again in the same way with their next album, I am confident that ARMY has grown so the number of sales will too. We will also likely be better prepared for such a scenario to happen again as well, so I would feel safe with a prediction of 3M for one $$$ version.

They are primarily solo bars, they did not buy BE essential when it came out. So I don't know what to expect from them next comeback.

Atleast 1mn sales from China got affected during BE. The bars had originally set 1mn target before the non-controversy erupted.

No matter what I truely want BTS to achieve 100 million equivalent album sales before 31 January 2022. They will rightfully achieve something that only 6 legends of Music World has gained. Hope, 7th gonna be our 7 dorks.
And to answer your question, 4 version with same price as MOTS7 album, 10 M album sales.

To be honest, I don't blame them. There were fans who were physically attacked just because they were BTS fans In China, the pressure was huge. It's perfectly normal for them to keep their activities low.
With normal price and 3-4 versions, I think they can reach 6 million even if there is no Chinese sale, maybe even more.

Yeah I don't blame them either. China is very hostile to BTS as can be seen in the current Friends reunion episode drama.
