  • although personally, i felt that after the aquisition, a lot of things became 'money-based', more paid content and merch and this change in jap label(?), it doesn't seem like THAT absurb bc i kinda get they need money in replace for the lack of concert income, but i get why carats are mad, they have a point too, everything was coming really fast

and honestly i see no reason why hybe would want to 'eliminate' seventeen (pledis was their only sub label that made profit last year and their jp comeback was really successful, kr comeback next month and so on), and svt is not 'competition' to anyone in their company too

guys, life is way too short to be too concerned abt smt that we don't know and can't control, have a nice thursday:)

    :lover3:

  • At this point are they really even competition? Feel like both groups have their set fanbases 5+ years into both their careers. Plus Hybe would be insane to buy companies just to sink them and make themselves look incompetent.

This seems like it's just Hybe pushing a bit too hard for Carats to spend money. Maybe their used to a ton of Armies spending whatever for shit but not every fanbase is like that.

  • It's not like Hybe doesn't put a lot of their own artists' content behind pay walls.

Superstar BTS was also shut down.

The fans can expect more Seventeen merch too, Hybe loves its merch.

They aren't taking away Seventeens Japan's promotions, they're taking charge of it. They switched to Hybe Japan.

They're trying to treat them as their own artist ig?

This is why I say that artists and fandoms are not exactly the same, what works for BTS may not work for another artist as they are a bit of an anomaly.

  • fancafe was shut down because weverse exists.

superstar pledis too because they probably want all hybe artists on rhythm hive. which imo is a way better game

vlive is shutting down permanently next year because of the merge and things are moving to weverse. it’s not the end of the world.

also i didn’t bother reading the rest of the tweets bc of how stupid the first one was

this is no sabotage because hybe is trying to expand the businesses (weverse etc.) they’ve established. it’s not like they’re taking svt off of one platform and leaving them to rot. they’re literally being accommodated in the hybe ecosystem they're trying to develop. can carats stop painting hybe as the bad guys???? do you really think svt and pledis would’ve agreed to being bought without them knowing what was in for them? edgy kpop stans move like they own business and know exactly what goes on behind the scene. literally stop victimizing your faves all the time it’s pathetic

  • seems like there are two opposite sides (and a middle ground of course)

On one side, what's like company stans, persuaded that all is for the good of the groups and on the other what's like company antis, that are determined to prove that all actions surrounding their groups and related more or less with Hybe is solely their fault.

Tbh I feel like some carats (idk for loves tbh) never fully accepted pledis entering hybe but gfriend disband (and I can get that) heightened the fear of the group being affected negatively.

(please if carats see my thread, tell me if I'm wrong, i'm talking about things i've seens but there are a small thing)

On one side I get that fear because hybe is starting to become one monster of a company and the gfriend news does nothing to help although the situation with svt and nues't seem different.

But in the things quoted, some of them can be simple explained, although maybe not accepted: superstar is obviously to go to rhythm game, vlive again with weverse. Are those good things? I don't know. Companies are companies, money is behind most of the decisions.

Hybe is a monster of a company. It is to determine if their actions and new projects will influence the trajectory of the groups and how it will influence them.

  • At this point are they really even competition? Feel like both groups have their set fanbases 5+ years into both their careers. Plus Hybe would be insane to buy companies just to sink them and make themselves look incompetent.

Inreresting. I saw couple of tweets from Carats saying they are paying more.... What does that mean?
