I don't really know what you meant. I've just noticed in most of your bts reviews you make it a point to mention your dislike of his vocals in particular. I guess you just don't vibe with them.

As for OP, i do agree about the instrumentals, i love the beat in the beginning of the song it was the best part.

But Butter has the same problems as Dynamite. I couldnt understand a damn word of it and it's generic af. There was no epic beat drop, no big climax to the song. The rap i have to relisten to, which will determine whether it scores better than Dynamite. Oh, also i gotta watch those English translation videos to see what the heck they were saying to give it a fair grade lol.

ETA: OK i relistened with English lyrics on....their pronunciation was much better this time around, it was the damn processing/autotune in some parts that made it impossible to make out words, once i listened with English subtitles it was much clearer.

I think overall your grade was fair. I gave Dynamite a 5/10 and Butter is noticeably better because of the better pronunciation and the nice rap flow. The problems with autotune, genericness, and lack of climax prevented it from getting an 8 or better.

I relistened with English lyrics. It wasnt their pronunciation, they improved a lot over Dynamite, but the vocal processing/autotune was the biggest culprit.

I'm KA, came here as a kid and have now lived here for several decades lol. My English is at the 98% percentile per SATs , but my Korean is rudimentary .

I absolutely loved the song. I really love Dynamite but Butter hit on another level. The melody was a little more complex and the lyrics were A LOT better. I understood their English fine and they improved a lot from Dynamite, especially Jin and Tae. There could've been a tiny bit less vocal processing in the first part of the song but that's really a very minor thing for me and doesn't detract from the song overall. I didn't notice it so much in the second part but right when the song starts whatever they did to the vocals feels just a little bit much.

I'm a Jimin bias but I kind of understand where you're coming from, Jimin's voice and his style has become a signature, but that style could easily put off certain audiences but also get tremendous love from others. As for me, I'm okay with it, I don't really fawn over his voice nor do I hate it. I never stanned Jimin for his voice, in terms of dancing and stage presence, he's the only one I could see.

Things I liked :-

1. Jin's voice pre-chorus is nice.

2. JK's at 0:55 small run is good to

hear. Execution was satisfying to listen to.

3. Instrumental is beautiful. Especially the addition of that gorgeously textured synth 1:30.... THAT SNARE IS CRISP AF and Bass is addictive, I love it.

4. Perfect runtime of the song. 2:45 seems appropriate.

5. Rapping is nice. It was surprisingly better than I expected. Good job.

Things I didn't like :-

1. Jimin's part 1:21 and 0:42 , I can't stand the infliction (or cry) he does every time he goes a little higher (I don't know if he struggles or does it intentionally), doesn't sound pleasant at all and he does it again at 2:09 in the background. Takes me out every time, very noticeable.

2. Loses energy when Suga starts his verse. Gains it back when V sings the last chorus effortlessly. Nice save.

3. As for English, I didn't understand some words in the chorus.

4. Probably the weirdest transition sound I have heard yet at 2:04

5. Overall, A low energy track especially during the letter half of the song.

Final ranking :- 7/10

Conclusion :- Nice track. Nothing special though, It gives me strong dynamite vibes....also, Very commercial sounding. Made for radio, Audience will eat it up.
