seeing how well AESPA and NCT Dream perform on their comeback last week , it seems like SM finally realize that they need to step up their game and we can actually see the progression . its about time tho , and im happy (so far) to see how SM treat their group , hopefully this positive action will go on for a long term and SM will actually have chance to reclaim back their position as the leader of BIG3 or even more , the biggest KPOP company
SM is on their way re-claiming back their BIG3 leader position

Actually since the melon chart reformation a lot of SM artists have charted on Melon surprisingly. Now some charting wasn’t that great and didn’t last long but of the big 3 or however many companies you want to add now, SM has had the most number of artists enter.
Taeyeon, Baekhyun, kyuhyun, Wendy, aespa, shinee, nct dream, nct u, there may be a few more soloists.
It was only a matter of time before other companies caught up or started doing better than SM. I mean it’s not gonna last forever they’ll probably be back at the top in the future and then be pushed down again. Look at JYP, Twice was their saving grace, and BP has helped YG tremendously since Big Bang left. SM lost the nations girl group and EXO, their biggest money makers. It’s gonna take time to recover and build their groups back up. The money is gonna start rolling in again, especially with how well nct is looking and now aespa, and an EXO comeback. Plus they got a whole new boy group coming.

They are still the leader of the Big 3 tho. No other company is matching them in terms of content. PERIOD.
If we’re actually talking about COMPANIES (as in employees ) and not groups, SM is the ONLY company rn successfully managing soloist, actors, trainees and groups all at the same time. If we’re talking about pure company power, SM IS UNMATCHED

idk about about profits, net income etc, all these things with terms I'm not familiar with, because at the end of the day, these big companies aren't only producing kpop groups, their reach is far more wider and they have investments on multiple fields that are also part of their reports. So I don't bother reading that because I'm never going to know how exactly these industries are working.
For me a top KPOP company should be the one showing the best results with their KPOP acts, and except for the short time YG had Ikon and Winner releasing hit songs + BP + Akmu + Lee Hi + PSY, there's no other that surpassed SM so far. They may not have the #1 bg or gg rn, but having all their groups and solo acts being successful is equally important imo.
Is it really the biggest company if they have a big selling group but the others can't even chart or sell less than 50k? And if their older acts keep leaving and there's barely anyone left? SM managed to get multiple million sellers, hit songs and top soloists. All their 10+ active acts are showing good results, so for that I think SM is still unrivaled

SM was always the Big 3 leader and it never changed and most likely not gonna change for a generation. YG only now is learning how to properly hold their kpop business, will take years until they match SM (if ever)
And JYP strategy of short-therm earnings only is making almost nobody renew their contracts , which is a calamity for a company that survives only on their idol core business and aren't investing in other markets. If this does not change soon YG will easily overtake them when the new YG acts starts to be more profilic
