APT is still in top 50 of bb hot 100 btw, it was released likd 10 months ago.

And its also still in the top 20 in Korea as well. I mean i got sick of the song real fast but its longevity is mad so i dont think its as easy as you think it is

Those two things are not remotely similar so not sure why you added “ai” and “animation” in the same sentence

One can argue the people behind KPDH are infinitely more skilled than like 99% of idols and deserve more success than all those idols.

Untalented idols lip sync’ing their way though their entire careers, not participating anything creatively is far more similar to AI than anything by KPDH.

First, I don't consider them a Kpop girl group. The group is the animated characters and I reckon they could just swap out any of the singers with someone else and it wouldn't be noticed.

Second, remove the vehicle of their success and the attachment to the movie and do they achieve the same results? I doubt it.

APT still has a lot of daily streams/views and is charting well on BB100 (the longest for any kpop song) and 200 Global.

In US and Korea it is the biggest song ever, but it is not doing that well in Japan. Maybe Japanese people are not watching cartoon that much, because they have a lot anime themselves?

nah, it's wildly successful but it came from a movie (and potentially a franchise?). they're talented singers (well it was mostly 1 singer) and all, but just because they're portraying a kpop group in a movie doesn't actually make them a kpop group the way every other group is.

indeed....the success of the songs is because it's association with KPDH. They could have swapped out any other singers or used vocaloid and it still would have hit big.
