  • It seems they are using bots heavily

These numbers are looking likes bots

So even with the bots the streams are still low as heck

  • What the heck are filtered and unfilterd streams?

Filtered means they've verified it as legit and count towards offical charts. Unfiltered includes all streams, including those that may be tagged as bots. So if you loop a song, or bots are used to stream it, it gets filtered out and not counted for the wider charts which are meant to show the true popularity of a song.

So for Aespa, they have less overall streams (bots and fans looping included) than streams confirmed to be legit... which is impossible if their streaming numbers are legit. IMO, it probs has something to do with the song being used for that Apple ad.

  • I doubt Aespa is the only group this is true for. Just getting caught for it is unfortunate. Would it be possible that it’s not the company but fans doing it? More likely?

Yeah it's the fans. Thailand and Vietnam Spotify are easy to game for fans but if u can't keep it up it looks bad and the song just free falls.

I'm blaming Apple. Considering they are using this song for an ad, it makes sense they'd want it to do well and tried to make sure a certain amount of streams would get through the filter.

  • Suspicions? I would be more surprised if there wasn't a mid tier and above K-pop group guilty having botted streams. It's only natural when fandoms use stream counts to inflate the successes of their favorite groups.

if that’s the case katseye will also be free falling since they are from Hybe.

Aespa fans have been claiming that Hybe uses bots since they want to downplay Newjeans and katseye but meanwhile the whole time it was Aespa

If they have less "unflitered" streams than filtered must mean less chance of "cheating" compare to groups with a lot of "unfiltered" stream?........

  • Thailand is notorious for botting. It is not exclusive to aespa.

    Just look at these numers.

If anything aespa seems more consistent than most groups recently. Every comeback they consistently chart on youtube music, spotify and most importantly apple music.

Only a handful of kpop songs both chart on spotify and Apple music.

    Draw your own conclusions.

  • is Aespa big in Thailand?

  • And..no one is surprised?

Every single mainstream group has utilized bots to some extent.

That's why when I correct certain fans for putting too much faith in streams being "organic," I just laugh when they attack my faves for HYBE being exposed, as a defense.

Keep in mind that not being caught doesnt mean you are free of charge.

But yeah, the song is also shit so I'd understand why SM would do this.

  • Looks like it’s just Aespa not really about Thailand

like I said. It doesn't really matter much in the long run. It lasted just 1 day.

Spotify is the most vulnerable platform for manipulation.

Just look at korean Spotify chart and compare it to the actual korean charts. You will understand stand why.

  • Lmao bot streams? More like mass streaming. Every single fan base mass streams the songs in the first few days. Hence these numbers. If the song goes viral the song keeps those streams or even rises, if it doesn’t go viral those streams drop.

So if Taylor received 30m streams for a song in the first day and free falling the next day, it also means botted streams?

its bots. Dont be a delusional fan and then embarrassing your faves at the same time. This is the first time in Spotify history that those numbers look like that

Also fist time to fall 116 spots they literally broke the record

lol. How do you know it is from bots?

From a Hybe Stan twit who always spread lies about Aespa 😂?

It is pretty easy to mass stream, and then drop next days, I thought it would be a common knowledge. But I guess I’m expecting too much from you.

  • Thailand and Vietnam Spotify are easy to game for fans but if u can't keep it up it looks b‍ad and the song just free falls.

Thailand is notorious for botting. It is not exclusive to a‍espa.

W‍hy does it seem like it's always the Southeast Asia region that engages in this sort of seedy behaviour?

  • If they have less "unflitered" streams than filtered must mean less chance of "cheating" compare to groups with a lot of "unfiltered" stream?........

Nope its the other way around. Unfiltered counts everything, including filtered so it should always be way more than the filtered streams. It should be impossible to have less overall streams than you have confirmed streams. Only way that would work is bots (like some are saying though I don't understand the how) or (my theory so shovel of salt because I really don't understand bots), someone agreed with spotify they'd have a certain amount of bumped confirmed streams, clearly expecting fans to mass stream and alot of that to be filtered out. But they had less fans mass streaming than predicted and didn't have time to amend the agreement to cover it up before the stats went public.

  • Spotify's userbase in Korea is very small, so it's easy for big fandoms to push the songs they want to the top. I wouldn't exactly say these streams come from bots.

    they didn't beat this record

  • Don't really care

The only thing I care is fans accusing other groups of using bots or playlisting or payola blah blah when their own faves or fans are guilty of doing the same

This. Just few days ago some mys were loud here saying how Aespa numbers are organic and others were all about playlist... If anything this is just embarrassing seeing how the reactions changed...
