It has no equal in this decade, and the closest thing to an equal is Ditto

Whiplash and its not even close.

I'm like probably one of the only people who did not like hype boy so whiplash for me

Hybe Boy. Love Whiplash, but there is only a part I truly love from it, and it's the part before the last repeat of the chorus 🫤

they're such different songs it's hard to compare.

one is kpop perfection.

the second one is definitly more a pop banger.

each songs have extreme strengh but from very different places.

so i would say both, both is good .

but if I had to chose just one, i think i would chose hype boy, it has a more feel good festive vibes to it, something you can enjoy all day all year, while whiplash is a bit more like a specific mood. this gives more warmth, personality and longlasting impact to hybe boy so i would chose hype boy.

it's kinda similar to whiplash vs supernova battle. whiplash sounds like the best, most badass song ever released (in pop) but supernova has more personality and is more fun like hype boy .

Recency bias works more in favor of Whiplash rn, and while a great EDM track it's hard to know for sure how well the beat will age. It's still new and fresh. Hype Boy is less dependent on the beat in that way.
