Her THIRD apology.. if I see a single person dragging her after this :pepe-laser-eyes::pepe-cut:

  • I don't speak for others but this apology feels very late. The timing of it seems very off due to their comeback being in 2 weeks and getting removed from kcon. Imo this would've worked much better for her and the group if they did this on a week of and not a month later.

  • :cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing:

This enrages me. A Third apology????????? I didn't know that!!

I HATE this snowflake sensitive generation of "fans"!!!!!!

All those POS fans need to get off their damn high horses and stop being so damn sensitive!!!!!!!

It's so devastating she couldn't celebrate HER birthday the way SHE wanted to!!!!!

    KEEP YOUR HEAD UP, JULIE!!!!!!!

IN MY EYES, YOU AND THE GROUP DID NOTHING WRONG!!!!!!!

YOU WERE JUST CELEBRATING YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

~ WITH IMMENSE LOVE FROM YOUR FOREVER KIOF OPPA FAN

  • Apologies are never enough for the mob, once they smell weakness they will continue to demand more and more.

But, maybe some of the people that were truly offended and not just for social media engagement, will accept the apology.

  • The school system in US is the problem why so many people react like that.

You can see tons of people writing on X that KIOF are giving one apology after another and you can also see lot's of fans becoming "neutral" now, in a way they ain't angry anymore.

I don't think that people from UK or African countries are holding grudges, they seem to be already moving on. But in same time you can see many Americans writing nonsense.

Still even if they are I get it. Would also feel awful if my fav act shitty towards sensitive topić related to my country etc.

It's personal decision if one want to forgive or not. But in same time I hope we want see some randos who will be writing 'KIOF racist' in 2029 or something.

  • Loss For Words GIFs | Tenor

  • You're weird for this.

First of all: no, actually, she can't celebrate her birthday the way she wants to if it means that she and her members will be cosplaying as black people, making racially insensitive and stereotypical remarks.

Second of all: asking her and members to be more aware of the weight of their actions is not "sensitive," its holding them accountable and asking them to hold themselves accountable, as well.

Lastly: this is not the first time. She has said a racial slur in the past and was held accountable but apparently that accountability was not enough because they went ahead and pulled this shit, saying "dont unstan us, please," implying that they were aware of the possible repercussions of their actions but still went ahead with it, anyway. They all knew what they were doing so stop infantilizing them.

You can't sit here and tell me that neither her nor Belle didn't learn about black history in the US. And even if that were true, you can't tell me that nobody in that entire company of god knows how many employees wasn't aware of the possible backlash.

They are grown adults capable of both making decisions for themselves and also suffering the consequences of those decisions. If they were truly trying to appreciate black culture/people then why couldn't they educate themselves more?

Make it make sense and stop with your parasocial bullshit.

  • Is not weird, is racist.

Her THIRD apology.. if I see a single person dragging her after this :pepe-laser-eyes::pepe-cut:

So you’re gonna tell black people how they should react

  • Now what exactly does the American education system, British people or Africans have to do with 2 American girls mocking Black American culture :meme-what:

It's just an apology, stop being a sensitive snowflake about it

  • Kpop fans really do drag everything to the bottom don't they. We have a post saying they did nothing wrong like what is going on. There is a video of them impersonating and mocking multiple cultures, fucking hell it's not hard to understand why this one won't go away for a while nor should it.

  • Now what exactly does the American education system, British people or Africans have to do with 2 American girls mocking Black American culture :meme-what:

The fact that over mamy years people there are learning that no one can say or do anything related to other culture because it's right away treated as racist or at least makes one thing that you are "mocking" them...

Simple things like doing hand gesture, head movement, accent, or just wearing a clothes suddenly became a taboo

They were literally laughing and making jokes while they did it. How that's anything but mocking to you is beyond ne

I know what they've did was wrong but the third apology seems enough. Like I said majority od people who were offended should just be now neutral towards them. Don't watch MV, don't but album etc. But in same time don't go online to retaliate with same stupid racist remarks.

Or belittle the people for ever being offended

  • Actually just finished the video, not sure this will make it better for them. They waited to apologise till after the birthdays for 2 of the members, thats wild to me. To do this now a week before a come back doesn't feel sincere does it. Leaving it months later open while celebrating birthdays, feels like your responding to the backlash and not caring about the situation. Sorry not sure I buy this one.

  • pro tip:

if you simply choose to not get offended at everything like some out of control antibody, it will make your life a helluva lot easier

This. I feel like it's mostly americans that get offended by the slightest things. For example braids. Here in austria we have black people do all kinds of braids on white people because they actually don't mind and see it as cultural appreciation.

well, that's their prerogative. best of luck to them. hope they break free from the algo driven stress cycle

I felt her saying the birthday part made it looks worse. So, she's saying them celebrating their birthday in peace is more important than addressing the black and latino community they offended. The timing of this all just seems so odd because they have a comeback in 10 days and they're trying to use media play to recoup potential loss sales. Plus, they most likely lost some money in missing out on kcon.

I am unsure who is handling PR at S2 but they really need to re-evaluate everything imo. They needed a video apology on the week of, and then let people know steps they're taking to educate themselves.

  • I know what they've did was wrong but the third apology seems enough. Like I said majority od people who were offended should just be now neutral towards them. Don't watch MV, don't but album etc. But in same time don't go online to retaliate with same stupid racist remarks.

Why should they, because you say so?? You can't decide whether people are allowed to still feel offended or not, it has nothing to do with you

  • The ones who have the right to feel offended, hurt and disappointed by them will feel regardless of any apology thanks to their "don't unstan us, please" comment bc in the end of the day they knew this was wrong and couldn't care two secs of rational thinking in the possibility of how that action could've hurt others.

I think it's funny how kpop fans decide what is racism and what isn't based on who is doing it. But when this supposed mockery act is done towards kpop idols with the intent of racism and xenophobia by some west personality be it media people, actors or singers then suddenly this is a serious matter and no amount of apology will make kpop fans forget such thing.

But everything aside I'll say I don't believe they are racist, just plain dumb who while not racist care nothing about others's pain. It's a pity this happened, kiof is a seriously amazing group with great members, I just hope they start being aware of their actions and influence.

  • So youre saying that people should just put on fake tanner to look asian, tape their eyes and do fake asian accents for their birthday! Just cause its funny to them?

If a white person wore hanfu, spoke in broken English and made it their birthday concept while laughing about it. I assure you that Korea will be quite angry. Don’t play dumb because you have no ability for critical thinking.

  • Anyway my personal feeling is that this is a dead horse. They have turned off ppl from them and people will keep bringing this up till it’s fresh in their minds and this might be a good few months before people let it go. Because that’s how scandals work. And there’s nothing KIOF can do to stop it.

They should let the hate run its course and then never do something like this again. That’s all there is to it.

    hanfu is Chinese

    hanbok is Korean

  • It’s nice she finally addressed an apology to those she/group offended :!:

    But exactly this below!

Anyways live and learn  as long as they put out bops and don’t do anything like that again I’m sure they’ll be fine.

  • The fact that over mamy years people there are learning that no one can say or do anything related to other culture because it's right away treated as racist or at least makes one thing that you are "mocking" them...

Simple things like doing hand gesture, head movement, accent, or just wearing a clothes suddenly became a taboo

    They were mocking black people.

Would you like me to quote several statements from that live or do you want to stop being a racist loser?

  • So what? Are black people some magical race that is above being taunted?

Don't think so. Everyone around the globe is made fun of by other races. Including black people.

It's a shame that a lot of people around the globe accepted and embraced that ghetto shit culture.
