We should talk more about f(x) than we do

  • Do you miss f(x)? 30

    1. Yes (25) 83%
    2. No (5) 17%

They have the best discography in K-Pop, the widely acclaimed best album in K-Pop and one of the most unique and instantly recognizable aesthetics ever.

And now they're the only SM girl group in the past 20 years to essentially disband

    I hate it.

All hail the Pink Bible and the Red Bible

  • Does f(x) remember they used to be f(x) anymore

    Probably not.

At least they went out with a banger album

Literally no girl group is making music like f(x) anymore

  • I know this is a solo song but I was OBSESSED when this came out.

The way Korea slept on this ahead of its time song from Luna and wouldn't even pay it dust is criminal :meme-disappointed:

  • This is the first f(x) song/stage I ever listened to.

Back in the days when I thought Luna was Krystal :meme-life-support:

  • Kind of both missing them and not missing them, but was most honest and said no because they never was any of my bigger favorite. But "Nu ABO" was one of my first favorite kpop songs and Hot Summer will always also be a bit iconic for my at least, but other than that I never really like their songs much. Well, Electric was also pretty good. But never really felt anything for the group. But the competion was hard because it where so many other good 2nd generation groups and you only have energy for a limited amount of groups.

  • Funny story is they’re the reason I took a long time to get into kpop lol.

After i saw heirs in 2013 ish i went and checked out Krystal and her group and was so turned off by kpop and GG’s it would be another 3 years before I actually get into kpop lol.

Same happened to me with EXO but see how it turned out, lol. Maybe if they were still in the picture, you would have come to like them.

f(x) was easily my 1.5 favorite group, but as other has said their story was too real and SM wasn't willing to showcase the full potential of the members who weren't Krystal. So, even if it hurts, it's better to see them doing their own stuff and celebrating f(x) and Sulli every anniversary date.

  • fx song recommendations? i only know hot summer, electric shock, and rumpapumpum

Shadow, Step, Airplane, Toy, Milk, Butterfly, Rude Love and Diamond are all must listens and all B sides

Oh how I wish they performed Airplane live more often. Same for Diamond.

But they did both at least once!

    RIP Sulli

Adding in the Shadow live I remember watching as it aired, completely unprepared for one of the best albums in K-Pop history to drop

FX that debuted/lasted at a later time is just RV and yeah I like many RV songs.

With exo maybe if I had heard them in MAMA era I would have been turned off too. But good that they broke away from that 2nd gen sound and moved on to better things.

Songs from that era simply wasn’t good and FX was no different.

    :meme-excuse-me:

Did the Monstars steal your taste in music in 2013? That era was fantastic and so much fun.

The more I talk about f(x) the more I miss them. They're the only girl group I've ever felt was just as unique as Mamamoo

They felt like a one of a kind group and a decade later that's proven true

  • LOL I guess the same wave of nostalgia hit both me and Korean fans

THE FACT THAT F(X) DEBUTED IN THE WRONG GENERATION IS SUCH A SHAME

I'm a MeU, but the members are receiving better evaluations now, and the album is getting a good response... If their SNS and SM's self-produced content had been handled well when they debuted, I feel like they would have been way more popular. The F(x) team itself was so close with each other ㅠㅠㅠ It’s really a shame.

    1. That combination was just legendary....ㅜ

    2. They were already popular back then but they definitely have the vibe of the current groupsㅇㅇ

    3. They were legendary back then too but looking back now, it was too unfair

    4. SM honestly treated F(x) like sh*t back then

    5. Even looking at them now, they look refined

    6. They were the most legendary girl group to me...ㅠ

    7. Sulli, my ideal type...

    8. I liked them so much. My perfect girl group and Jung Soojung... Everyone was extremely beautiful

    9. They were super popular at the time but right now, their photos would be all over Instagram

    10. And to think that they debuted in 2009... they were so refined even for our days

  • I'm the number one f(x) fan on allkpop and have been since I joined in 2016. I don't talk about them anymore cause I didn't think anyone would talk with me. All the users who would are long gone. Glad you are still passionate enough about them to make a thread Yama.

I'll never let their legacy die and will always engage with any f(x) thread.

Their music? Immaculate. Their aura? Incomparable. Their aesthetic? Irreplaceable

    :meme-elmo-fire::meme-cheers:

I'm a huge f(x) fan, don't worry we exist! They're still my favorite girl group to this day and have an unmatched discography. My other favorite group is EXO and even they have more songs I don't like compared to f(x). Always down to talk about f(x) :)

  • They were before my time and I am curious why they weren't bigger. When revisiting 2nd gen they had my favorite discography. Unsure how popular Apink was but they also had a very good one and same with Sistar and Kara

They weren't bigger because SM sabotaged the hell out of them ;( I think someone had a personal vendetta against them and were determined to make sure they never got as big as they deserved. Even with what they had, they were popular in Korea + Internationally so imagine if they got proper promotions/comebacks

  • Yeah I miss that era of kpop, I feel like it had the fun, sometimes campy vibe that we're missing today

I miss f(x) so much, I remember 2016-2019 I was in my delulu era that they would have a comeback eventually </3

They were so unique and as a group they had a presence that I don't think any other group has managed to replicate. Also let's talk about how Luna is so criminally underrated when she was both the main vocalist and one of the main dancers AND released one of the best solo albums

  • They were before my time and I am curious why they weren't bigger. When revisiting 2nd gen they had my favorite discography. Unsure how popular Apink was but they also had a very good one and same with Sistar and Kara

I missed this post entirely, but the question was answered.

Out of all the SM girl groups, they were treated the worst by SM and it's not even close

Damn shame. They were very popular regardless but could have been much bigger

  • Yeah, I miss them a lot and I'm still sad how SM mistreated them, compared to their other ggs.

Even if not as often as in the past, I still listen to their songs from time to time and they're my 2nd most listened to artist in the last 15 years.

Sometimes I wish they could reunite and do even a small project together - something for the fans who are very much still here. Luna was my bias and I loosely follow her activities, so I know she still remembers about f(x), despite all the pain they went through in SM (she mentioned it a few times, very generally, but I do have a feeling she was talking about SMent). Last year or the year before she did a small recital and she performed a couple of f(x) songs, which was nice. It was streamed on her IG and made me very nostalgic.

  • fx song recommendations? i only know hot summer, electric shock, and rumpapumpum

Listen to the whole pink tape album you'll thank yourself (but if you can't, Shadow, Airplane, Toy, and Pretty Girl are musts). Also love the whole Red Light album, but favorites are Red Light, Milk, Butterfly, Spit it out, and Dracula. From Hot summer album, Sweet Witches, Dangerous, and Love are my faves. And then obviously 4 Walls, Rude Love, Papi, and Deja Vu.

I'll be honest though, if you find the time give their whole discography a listen. It's (sadly) not super long but it's immaculate

I've had to settle for f(x) crumbs by watching Krystal and Victoria's most popular dramas, Crazy Love and Find Yourself.

They were absolutely one of the most unique girl groups to come out of the industry, and it's a shame they released 3 all time great albums in a row and were done. It's a hell of a legacy regardless, and there were some really unfortunate circumstances that impacted the group, but damn what a waste.

My absolute favorite 5 member group until NJZ debuted....who are conceptualized and led by MHJ, the brilliant mind behind f(x). Not meant as MHJ glaze but there is an obvious tie there, and I'll never forget Krystal SMILING supporting NJZ during their stage at the Blue Dragon Film Festival

  • A few of my favourite songs (aside from the ones already shared), to share some f(x) appreciation :borahae:

It's so funny that you say this because MAMA and Wolf were the songs that got me into both EXO and Kpop in general lolll. F(x)'s Red Light was the third song I heard after those two and my fate was sealed
