What's your favorite type of girl group concept?

I would say dreamcore, rétro and cute but I prefer vocal girl groups or the ones involved in their songs’ creation before all concepts.

The best groups would blend some these concepts to create something new. Sexy/Glamorous/Dreamcore with a touch of Dark would be perfect - but there really isn't a group like that right now.

I feel like I sometimes tend to like what some people call "Christian horse girl music", which is G-Friend, Oh My Girl, Lovelyz, ILY:1, CSR etc...

I don't know if BEWAVE is considered that too.

But there was a time where I also listened to 80's inspired retro music, especially KARA's music.

Sexy, Y2K (but the XG type), Dark, Glamorous are also genres I like.

When you roll them all up into a big, sticky wad, what you can possibly get is a futuristic, sometimes dark, sometimes grimy, sometimes glamorous, "cyberpunk" sound. Songs that wouldn't sound too amiss as a soundtrack song for Cyberpunk 2077 or even more hopeful near future games like Zenless Zone Zero. Throw in a bit of synthwave for good measure if you want. Ironically, this can make the "futuristic" vibe sometimes have some retro twinges to it, but Retro-Futurism is an awesome sci-fi genre/look/feel/sound, so f*ck you.

Funnily, two songs that really fill some of those vibes are from groups that aren't really my favourites.

actually it's kinda a mix of dreamcore and dark/horror concept, it's literally perfection .

ASAP's MV is what I would consider art. While the song is good, there's a lot of artistic choices in the MV such as utilizing collages. There is a strong creative vision about it which I often find other MVs lack (some MVs prefer to have coolshots which is fine, just not my pref).

The music is a beast of it's own! They use it more as a story teller. And it's one of the few songs that I have to watch the MV.

I can see passion and a vision which I freaking love.

Yeah, its similar to ASAP. I want to see a group lean into the horror, obsession and eeriness. I know Japan has a market for it considering the yandere trope is popular there. That vibe is under explored in kpop which is sad.
