SM has no idea what to do with H2H and it's sad.....

    I've been saying this since their predebut era

    there's a really huge fracture between the branding SM is trying to give to H2H and the final product


    i wanted to see how all the teasers would look like to see if my assumptions were true

    but looking at the teasers + MV


    I can confirm that SM have no idea what to do with H2H and it's sad


    cuz the way they are trying to brand the group seems very promising and would be really cool


    but looking at the final project there is a big difference

    it looked like SM was trying to brand H2H as a colorful/cute and innocent Girlgroup

    and now they released a teaser for their vlog show and it just accentuate this girly, innocent, bright girlgroup image

    and when you look at all of these you expect something bright musically and concept wise

    cute, girly and innocent


    which is i think what most people expected

    their debut song have this dreamy girl vibe with more powerful and strong part which feels like there's a weird discordance between the way SM promoted them and the final result that they achieve

    they sold a bright and cheerful girlgroup to the public since the first teaser


    and when it's time to promote the group and upload the teaser leading to their debut


    they are giving to the public everything besides what they were trying to sell for the past weeks

    SM is not knowing what do with any of their newer groups. It's the same problem with RIIZE and to a lesser extent NCT Wish. I can't see anything remarkeable.


    I few like older groups are not that affected, because they already are formed and have an identity given by people previously working at the Company, so SM just have to follow a formula. Now when they need to create one...

    but H2H have been a mess production wise, concept wise

    Honestly I was very confused from the teaser pics to the MV video! My theory is they cut a lot of things out! Some of the teaser pics outfits and scenery didn’t make it to the MV and some outfits and scenes in the MV were not teased :huuh:


    Sm has always been messy tbh and rushed ironically :!:


    I’m not going to pretend to know what’s going on internally in SM but H2H have massive potential and personally I really loved their debut songs!


    The marketing department needs to get it together and do their job! Stop relying on the SM name/brand to carry H2H because the girls deserve the effort :oops:


    I loved the initial teaser video but then we had to wait almost a month for the next thing :?: the point? Luckily H2H seem to be very talented and I have no doubt they will turn this around but SM do need to do better!

    some scenes of the MV were literally film in december


    you can't make me believe that it's how a big company would work -_-


    i was afraid when i saw that the people in charge of H2H never worked with Girlgroups before and were only in charge of Shinee and TVXQ and mostly did strong and powerful concept

    especially after i saw the concept that looked cute and innocent for H2H


    and it seems i was right to be worry for the debut cuz the promotion and branding is messy



    sometimes i'm looking at what companies do and i'm thinking "i can't believe that some of you have a master degree in the field and you couldn't do better than this"

    You are saying this bc they flopped, but I don't see a problem with having several types of teasers, images pre debut. If they are charming enough they'll do well, if not then they won't. The company do need to give them better songs, but they literally just debuted so waiting is better than already complaining or trying to blame the company for a supposed failed planning.

    Give them some time. They'll have their own identity, probably.

    I feel similar though and it’s not because of their charting :?: if anything they’re doing better than a lot of 5th gen girl groups in that stage :oops: also I loved their songs both TT and Bside!


    But the direction has been very confusing! If you check all my post and theories based on the teaser pics and videos none of them were right :?: I was shocked with the TT because I thought they were going a different direction completely!


    I will always support them and loved their debut music personally but I’m not naive to see SM has been all over the place! Again it’s nothing really new for SM as they’ve always have been kind of rushed and a bit unorganised but it’s been the most obvious with H2H :oops:


    I have no doubt the comebacks will be better prepared and more thought out in the direction. Right now I’m enjoying their music and as a fan wish the girls get the best and consistent effort put in :oops:

    As a non fan who knows nothing about them I don't feel lost looking at them. Maybe it's bc you guys had some wishful dreams about what they could be and it wasn't that so your frustration (?) lead you to feel this way.

    They didn't lie, it's just that you guys didn't expect that kind of song, image, etc, but like? To call it a rushed debut? I don't feel like it.

    BABYMONSTER officially debuted on April 1st, 2024 with Sheesh, which reached top 10 on melon. Get your facts straight people.

    Anyways. I don’t agree with your points OP.


    But I will say 1 thing. Their debut song is not it. It is not good! And it is first time I disliked SM group debut so much. It is definitely worst SM group debut of all time. SM should’ve chosen better song.

    I don’t know what their A&R team is doing. But they are under the center of Shinee(Prism center). So I thought they will choose good songs.

    When I heard Black Mamba my jaw was on the floor. I don’t expect that kind of shock factor from H2H, but I expected better song tbh than “the chase”


    Their bside was good tho.
