There's a difference between saying " my contract ends in november, no one can stop me,i don't care anymore, feel free to come at me"
Which clearly indicate the fact that she don't plan of renewing after her contract ends in november, and that's why she don't care about what her company can say to her
And what Joy said
Joy never indicate explicitely her wish to not renew
She share her discontent with how SM manage red velvet activities
And fans interpreted this as unhappy = she'll not renew

Joy on the other hand went to Bubble, where it's really only fans and assuming she's there to be honest with them, her complaints were more serious. But it was only Soyeon who got held to higher standards for some reason.

I guess we're just going to conveniently ignore that the things they said were completely different.
Joy never even (publicly) made her discontent with SM about her contract or her employment status in general, while Soyeon and her groupmates directly brought it up multiple times, acting like they couldn't wait to leave Cube and were literally counting down the days. No one in RV has ever mentioned their contracts, whether they've already renewed or not. Wendy has even gone as far as avoiding the subject when fans allude to it.
Their situations couldn't be more different.

I'm just going to ignore your typical RV hatred and the absurd notion that SM would lose nothing of consequence, but I'll agree with the notion that Soyeon holds significantly more power in Cube than Joy does in SM, which only makes Joy's grievances more understandable by comparison. Soyeon most likely had Cube by the balls the whole time and still made a public commotion out of her contract status, while Joy voiced her concerns as an employee of lower status without ever publicly threatening to quit, jokingly or otherwise. Again, polar opposites in how they handled whatever displeasure they may have had with their employers. If you're correct and all Soyeon ever had to genuinely complain about was the company's wifi, then guess what, that only amplifies the difference.

Soyeon isn't even the most popular member of Gidle
Her experience in the entertainement industry is only producing, composing and being an idol
Just the fact that she only have experience in these limit the agencies that could be interested in her
So the only agency that would be interested in her would be companies who manage singer
The problem is that solo artist doesn't gain enough money from their money, a big part of their money come from advertising
The problem with soyeon is that visually she doesn't fit the korean standard of beauty so brand aren't really interested in her cuz she's not the type of artist the public will see in an ad and think " she's so pretty it makes me want to buy this CC cream or this makeup"
And on the other hands even after all these years being the face of the group in GIDLE, she have a really low popularity among the GP
That's why after 8 years of activity she had pretty much no solo brand deal or ads in contrary of members like minnie or miyeon.
And to finish if Soyeon wants to quit Cube, she'll have to pursue a singing career in solo
And her past solo all flopped hard so who wants to hire a singer artist that all their previous solo stuff flopped and didn't enter the chart.

And that would still be Soyeon because of her track record and results. You are just reducing things to “well Joy is prettier so companies will want her more”. And missing the obvious that her producing skills which generated Cube a ton of money would be sought after by other companies
