Nope it was much harder before because more charts, you seriously think its hard to top 4 charts when there used to be way more?

The way Ichart works also means if you release on a Friday its harder to get a PAK.

Boy Group fans used to be able to control 1 of the smaller charts to stop people getting PAK quite often.

And while OTG is a great bop, it wasn't what everybody was expecting from her, but it still did great and she slayed internationally, mind you if Money hadn't gone viral, Rosé would be the most successful solo ww by the pinks and then Jisoo released Flower which actually took everyone by surprise with how huge it became in SK and ww.

So nope, it's not surprising she'll be the first pink to get a pak, this would be right about Lisa or even Jisoo in Flower era, but Jennie and Rosé slaying kcharts isn't something new neither "surprising", she is a golden voice and her fandom is totally dedicated!

It was harder to get PAKs back then for girl groups because the charts didnt have unique listeners mechanism. So BG stans can just flood the charts with zombie streaming/streaming party.

Only when a song becomes super viral or a GG with dedicated fanbase (e.g. Twice during their peak) able to get PAK easily. Charting was also assisted by digital downloads.

SOLO did extremely well, it just missed the iChart weekly #1. It was against Twice's Yes or Yes and EXO's Tempo

I thought the data indicated that these days it is tougher to PAK, but once PAK, acts managed to log more PAK hours than in the past.

But I am thinking that's not well analysed.

In the past more acts could PAK, because the industry was not varied and the listening population. So many indie, non-kpop acts all PAKd.

But now it is too consolidated, the chances of a non-kpop and then non-Big4 or non-famous act PAKing has become very less

The only thing that has remained constant, across all the chart changes, industry changes etc. is IU.

Even she had only one song that PAKed this year,lesser than her own impossible standards.

Congrats to Rose ! She always my favourite among BP' members. I like her voice and her beautiful face too
