Pledis.... is not exactly a good company. Please look into the history of After School and how the members who were left in the final lineup, were treated 
Seventeen is only paid well as they are producers and also make songs for other artists.
Pledis was supposedly founded upon good intentions but even Kahi who wrote and produced many of After School's songs, and was the creator of their concepts for each era even after she left, chose what members were in the group and choreographed the group, was not paid well and very mistreated.

Korea had a significantly positive response to it, and if you go on X/TikTok, the song had meme edits within 10 minutes of MHJ revealing it
they teased something similar to this at the golden disc last year
