Yes they already appeared with different hair colours and rumours have it their comeback will be in August or September with a summer vibe.

NewJeans was the same when they debuted. I remember reading so many posts about their group branding being stronger than their individual members' brandings.

Although looking back to NewJeans' debut, it seemed like once they debuted everyone became obsessed with the group. All 4 songs of their debut EP except Hurt became hits. NewJeans was anything anyone ever talked about that whole entire summer. Everyone danced to Attention and Hype Boy. NewJeans single-handedly created a new K-Pop era with their aesthetic, artistic direction and music production. If you look at music show lineups these days, majority of them haven taken on the more simpler, best friends, Y2K type of aesthetic that wasn't as prominent before NewJeans came to the scene.

With Illit I haven't seen such a phenomenon. People don't really talk about the group much and only know the song Magnetic. No one really listens to their B-sides. The individual members don't seem to stand out much to make any buzz. It's been almost 4 months since their debut and so far the only thing that stood out about Illit is their song Magnetic, their lack of live singing skills and them being involved in the Hybe/MHJ drama.

So it's not looking good rn. But who knows...If they can pull a 'Ditto/OMG' for their first comeback that would be the best outcome for the group as the first and second comebacks of a popular group are some of the most important ones to see if they can maintain their success or not.

They haven’t even had their first comeback yet, let them breathe.

I'm assume that they want to get paid well, not do stuff for free or for peanuts.
