Why doesn't New Jeans get "cute concept" treatment?

I feel it bc it come right after the girl crush craze so people wanted smth else

it will probably be more notable as they get older and the bunny ears and butterfly wings look out of place

Nah, it's a cute concept for the most part. Which is fitting given their ages, and they've already received notable criticism & controversy on the occasions where they've strayed too far from the path of cuteness, so there's no point in pretending that isn't the path they're currently on.

They are bunch of teenage girls, it would be stranger if people used their "cute" concept against them.

And I don't think they have cute concept as much as it is refreshing, retro and y2k kind of concept.

I find OMG super cute (styling/dance wise) but rest is just teenage girls doing teenage stuff - not trying to be cute?

But that's exactly it. Anything that's aimed at teenagers is cute to everyone else. Picture a small child watching a show made for small children and trying to argue that it's anything but cute. That's essentially what you're doing, but for teenagers.

Literally what i came to right. Its teen-pop/love sick music. Plus its just fundamentally produced better than what Twice was releasing (atleast for western standards). Super Shy maybe was veering more into cute territory, but previous releases were not and more teen-pop.

I think it is a mixture of them being young teenagers, people relieving their youth with them and the Hybe fans defending them a lot
