Do you get enough sleep? If not, why not?

I can naturally on certain occasions. However, I usually have trouble sleeping (I won’t call it in insomnia. It’s much more complex than that.) But my pills that help me with lack of sleep. Unfortunately these pills have me sleeping 12 hours, instead of a healthy 8 hours. I hate to say so. I’m just tired.

Gosh I hope you find a healthy balance, I can't imagine how draining that must be. Do you do work that makes normal sleep difficult?

I don't believe that everyone has a set amount of sleep they must get every night. I get on average 6 or less and that is normal for me. If I sleep too much, I get ocular headaches.
EDIT: I have no problems falling asleep or staying asleep. It is easy for me to take naps additionally. I just sleep when tired and am awake when not simply.

Thankfully, I have recently had a good night’s sleep. No, I don’t work any crazy schedules. When I’m unemployed it makes me sleep more. However I am forced to work in retail for the time being.

Mostly it was cause I worked out and went on the treadmill to late (I used to work late night shifts in the kitchen at a restaurant and had to travel from the airport to my apartment which was 2 hours away. So I didn't actually get off the bus till 11pm, didn't get to my apartment till 12am on good days (don't even ask about the -30 winter days lol), so I'm currently struggling a lot adapting my schedule to the day because of those night shifts. So Long story short, I would begin working out and started running at the centre in my condo when I got home late, aka more energy = bad ability to sleep. I'm slowly getting out of this habit, but with winter and insomina its pretty hard.
Now however since my chef quit and I'm doing other stuff this 2024, it's mostly if I remember to take my sleep medication 😅

I need good hours of sleep because I hate some coworkers
Living with them while asleep would be worse than a nightmare

I guess because I usually take a nap during the day.
